I'm no fan but he wasn't a total spaz tonight, In terms of doing their respective jobs Rooney was by far and away the biggest waste of space,

I only saw the last half an hour or so, but Rooney seemed to be taking all the set pieces. He also frequently dropped back into midfield trying to do Wilshere's job of distributing the ball around, thus leaving Wilshere a bit redundant. He also kept taking up the attacking playmaker role that Lallana was supposed to be filling, thus forcing Lallana to try and find space in areas where he couldn't do any damage. He also tried to be the one on the shoulders of the last defender, causing first Welbeck then especially Lambert to move out wide so as not to crowd the space. That's the main reason why England could only beat 10-man Estonia by a single goal. It was like Beckham against the Greeks - something the English media will hail as an outstanding performance but what in reality was the display of a headless chicken that contributed hugely to why everyone else looked so out of sorts.

Youknowwho has scored his first goal since his return from his ban. He scored in the 57th minute of Uruguay's friendly against Oman.

EDIT: He has a brace now, 2-0 to Uruguay.

Hold on, so he can play international football, but is banned domestically?

After biting someone at an international tournament?

Sound.

His international ban was for 9 competitive games. He played and provided an assist against Saudi Arabia a couple of days ago.

He could have played against Japan and South Korea last month, but Tabarez decided to allow him more time to integrate at Barcelona.
