At what point in 2002/03/04 did you think...

Home leg of UEFA Cup match v Celtic, March 2003. 0-2 defeat, but it was the gutless performance that made me think that he was on the slidey slope to the dole office.

That Kevin Lisbie hat-trick near the beginning of the following season sealed it for me.

It took me a long time to sour on Houllier. I really thought he'd turn it around.

And there is the lesson for Rafa, once you lose the plot you never get it back or turn it around.

Both managers pretty similar in that they divised a system to get us so far but when they have to open up and attack, the team struggles to cope defensively without the defensive protection but as proved if you dont risk losing a game to win a game you will never win the PL

i heard him on the radio after we beat bolton at home in one of the most boring games i've ever watched ( i think we won 2-0). his excuse for such a shocking show was he claimed "it was important to contain bolton as they were a very good and dangerous team". as soon as i realised he thought Liverpool Football Club should be "containing" sides like Bolton at Anfield, i realised he would never be the man to bring us the league and as the football was so terrible to watch i'd have sacked him that minute. i don't know exactly when that was, but i seem to remember it was in the 2002/3 season.

Yep, the home game against Celtic was the one I was hoping someone would mention. I was only 13 at the time but that was the particular turning point for me.

I was at that game. Fuck me it was depressing. I'd have to say getting beaten by City that year. When Anelka scored twice after joining them instead of us.

I never thought that during the 2002 season as we finshed 2nd.

In 02/03, I thought I'd give him another season & he could turn it round. Winning the Worthington Cup certainly helped that.

By the end of 03/04 I thought he had to go. Can't remember a certain point during the season though.

Towards the end of the 02/03 season I'd had enough. We gave him one year too long, in my opinion. It was probably at about midnight, in bed, the time when I do most of my thinking.

Crystal Palace in the FA cup at Anfield, hated Heskey from that day, he was clean through on goal from the half way line but you just knew he was going to fuck it up. Started to dislike Houllier around then too.

A year later the FA cup game against Portsmouth, I really hated him, not sure exactly when it changed from dislike to hate.

Still hate the cunt.

Celtic at home stands out for me too.

There were plenty of lows before and after it too, but I don't ever remember being as low after a game as I was then.

It didn't help that it came not long after the 2 Palace cup games either.
