I had to deal with such a person last week. He had been with his girlfriend for a few months, and had convinced her he had sixteen millions pounds in inheritance. He went out and put orders in for two brand new BMW'S with her, and a new mini cooper for her, orders on two brand new quad bikes one of which he promised her dad, and 11k worth of TV and Audio equipment. he followed this up with putting in and having bids accepted on two houses worth over half a million each, and told his girlfriend they were going to move in. She gave up her tenancy and found buyers for all her furniture. This particular lad faked bank statements, and convinced everyone he had served in the Army and done tours of Iraq and Afghanistan, and had seen a close mate get shot and killed. He would disappear from the house and claim to be visiting his fallen comrade.

 

The truth? He was broke, jobless and had served a few months in a training centre for the army before quitting after basic training.
