  1. All of that would be fine if it said that some of the money was going to the families, the JC or some other worthwhile charity. As it is they are trying to ensure that anyone wanting the 96 on their back comes to them so they dont miss out on any money. I'd also argue that anything bearing the club logo being sold in the club shop would have to be sanctioned by someone high up. I also cant believe that somewhere along the line someone didn't highlight the fact that the club using the J96 'slogan' (for want of a better word) in a way that would bring them profit would upset a large section of out fan base. It's also a big coincidence that it's suddenly happened after the campaign received a great deal of media attention which, now they're selling these selling shirts, has effectively amounted to free advertising for them. It is purely motivated by money because they have done it at the point they feel they can make most money from it. Plus, as i've said, they own image rights to the players names. Does the Justive campaign fall into the same catergory? We're talking about the greatest tradgedy ever to befall our club. There should never, ever be even the potential from the club to make profit from that.
  2. Are there people who think the original post is real? It's obviously a story he read and replaced some of the words. Piece of arse? Solids?
  3. The club and its new management team have clearly seen people wearing the shirts, even more so given the recent increase in media attention, realised they weren't making any money on it and stuck in next to Gerrard and Torres shirts. It's sick. When players sign contracts part of the agreement is that the club can use their image to make profits. Have the families of the dead signed anything like that? Do they get a massive salary as part of that deal? The J96 is pure profit for the club. People could choose to put that on their shirts elsewhere which would be fair enough and much better than the club the 96 died supporting, the club that's such a big part of our lives profiting on the tradgedy of their deaths. It's not even that it's something so close to our hearts. I'd think it was sick if Bradford were selling a shirt commemorating their dead and pocketing an extra 20 quid in the process. Make no mistake about it, our club have identified a revenue stream that became more evident after the recent publicity and have moved in to profit from it as quickly as the could. They've taken the most emotive issue at our club and milked a bit of money out of it. The fact that they were selling it without any money going to the justice campaign or the familes confirms that beyond any reasonable doubt.
  4. Either way the club has seen people with J96 tops on and realised that was something concerning the club they weren't making any money and then moved to profit on the most tragic day in this club's history. If there was money going to the justice campaign or any other charity i'm sure it would have been mentioned on the label. Apparently the club shop had to close due to a father of one of the victims going in and kicking off. Good on him. It's one thing to generate money for the club and another to make profit from 96 innocent people dying. Right in front of their family members noses as well. If people think that's in anyway acceptable then they're as disassociated from our real fan base as the cunts who are currently running our club.
  5. Isn't the issue that the 96 shirts cost more? They also should never look to make profit from people remembering the dead. It would cost very little of their overall income to pass any profits on to the HJC and would go someway to improving relations with a fanbase who see them as parasites.
  6. I apparently pronounce remember as renember even though i know full well that's wrong and it must make me sound like a twat. It would wreck my head if someone i knew did that.
  7. I dont go to many aways and it's a twat to get tickets when i do, but i'd be fuming if they reset the loyalty for home games. So it certainly wouldn't be fair to do it to the fans who travel everywhere to follow us.
  8. Depressingly accurate. Reds games followed a strangely familiar pattern this season May 12 2010 by Andy Proudfoot, Liverpool Daily Post EVER wondered how morning newspapers produce those detailed match reports? Well, Red Watch can now reveal one of the most closely guarded tricks of the trade: football journalists often use pre-written templates that help them to craft the report in advance of the game actually being played. Sound ridiculous? Then take a look at the sample reproduced below. Team line-ups: Set out in 4-2-3-1 formation (it won’t change, regardless of opposition). Insert Lucas plus 10 others as announced. First 15 minutes: Liverpool establish easy ‘control’. 20 Minutes: Reina rolls out ball to Agger. Liverpool string 25 passes. Agger returns ball to Reina. 20-35 minutes: Liverpool enjoying lion’s share of possession, but running out of ideas in last third (Note: if Torres playing, add in three goals). 40 minutes: (Insert name of average winger) skins Insua, hammers in low cross to forward drifting in unmarked at far post to score. 45 minutes: Lucas concedes needless foul. Resultant free-kick drops into wrong ‘zone’ and unmarked forward heads goalwards. Reina brings off astonishing save. Half-time summary: Liverpool strangely lacklustre, need to step up the pace if going to record first away win since August/Christmas/Everton. 46-48 minutes: Period of blistering attacking play by Liverpool. Kuyt scuffs shot straight at keeper. 48-60 minutes: Game settles into familiar pattern. Fans ask Carragher to keep his voice down – people are trying to sleep. 60 minutes: Babel comes off/on, after/before ineffectual performance. 65 minutes: Opposition winger needs sleeves taking up after constant tugging by Insua. Returns to float in harmless cross that finds forward unmarked. Reina pulls off astonishing save. 70 minutes: Liverpool need something different up front. Benitez brings on Aurelio. Substitute board refuses to accept number 21 so Lucas stays on, Benayoun goes off. 88 minutes: Benitez brings on Pacheco. Aquilani off with suspected bruised cuticle. 90+ minutes: Liverpool finally click into gear, laying siege to the opposition goal. Gerrard hits woodwork five times. Opposition break away, three onto one; Reina pulls off astonishing save. 95 minutes: Final whistle goes. Liverpool players look dejected. Wave appreciation to the backs of hordes of Reds fans trooping out of the ground. After-match comment from Benitez: “We had control, we had chances, they played on the counter-attack, we will still finish fourth.” Still sceptical? Thought not.
  9. Zanetti and Cambiasso not there but Guteirez and Colochini are? Madness
  10. I'd normally be dead against selling such a young player but Insua isn't going to get any taller or significantly quicker. I cant think of a full back as small and slow as he is that has been a long term success at a top team. Small and slow translates as over-powered and out-paced. I'd take 5m as his value will only drop if he doesn't play. I like Yossi and reckon he look even better in an attacking team but you couldn't refuse 9m at his age. Saying that, it would depend who was given that money to spend.
  11. Yes but he cant be expected to score in every half he plays in, i'd have thought that was obvious. The point is you're more likely to score with Torres on the pitch than N'gog. The irony being that the only people with even a passing interest in football who would disagree with that happen to support us.
  12. Villa away and the last game against Benifica are just two examples of him doing fuck all and then scoring. It's a sign of a top class forward that you can not play well but still chip in with a goal. Unless he is seriously injured we are more likely to score with Torres on the pitch. The same would be true with Drogba and Strurridge, Rooney and Diouf, Van Persie and Vela which is why other managers dont take off their best forwards after 60 mins in a must win game when they dont have a decent replacement.
  13. We attacked more but didn't score. No way a top quality forward could have helped us there then.
  14. Fact is we look 10 time more likely to score when he's on the pitch and he took him off with 30 mins to go and we didn't score. Not scoring meant we drew a game we needed to win. They're the only facts i'm arsed about.
