It's hypothetical, but as it stands right now no club can make an offer to MSI for his services until his contract runs out with us on 30 June 2008.

To prevent anyone trying to snatch him away we've also agreed a first option on him rumoured to be £18m.

The reason a price was agreed at the start was because Parry had his fingers burnt by Madrid over Owen when he agreed a first option to buy him back but didn't settle on a figure, hence Newcastle bidding £18m and ouselves standing there with are dicks out pissing in the wind.

So to sum up as far as I am aware contractually we have first option on him, and the only way he can go to another club is if we don't want him.

I'm really suprised at some of the lads that would spunk our entire transfer budget over one player next summer.

Rash would have got slaughtered for that.

But the difference in this case is that we have had The Chief on loan since January and have seen first hand the effect that he has on the team. Many feel that he is too important a player to let go in the summer even if that means financially putting all of our eggs in one basket for a transfer window.

Veron - £28m

Kleberson - £6.5m

"For signing fuckflump South American midfielders there's Slur Exlax, for everything else there's Maschercard"

Mascherano - Priceless.

What he said, really. Or what he was implying. We need to sign Macher. He's Makelele with an end product.

If I am right the question doesn'tr say we wouldn't be able to sign anyone else just that our budget would be gone after his signing. So I would make money from selling other players to help us sign players for the other areas of the team.

The chance to have arguably the best anchorman in the world partnering the best all round attacking midfielder for several years is worth £25 million IMO.
