It's all a bit odd. I mean, who pays £35k in an era of free porn and Only Fans?

Wouldn't be surprised if when the SEX PEST is finally outed they go to a rival paper and claim they were blackmailed.

Seems it wasn't 35k in one hit, it was over a period of time. Depending what the pics are, that could be a bit different to only fans and your pornhub type stuff.

Another take is -  the BBC said new information came to light in the last few days, quite likely the mother might not have even have known it was illegal and a possible police matter.

Wise not to call the bizzies in if your child has a sizable habit and it would more than likely damage the relationship with her child. It looks like this was reported at the time ITV and Schofield were all over the news.

BBC got a dosier off the family last week they said on breakfast this morning. And the presenter called the victim.

The BBC said they received new information in a statement last week, I think Friday so that ties in. The mother originally contacted them May 19th.

I was going to ask if the photos the BBC presenter bought were worth £35k and then realised the rabbit hole that that particular question takes this thread down is really dark.

Sketches will suffice.

Of course they weren't  it was some nobody young lad, not RB14.

I'm a bit confused by all this.  It's legal to have sex at 16 but it's illegal to source pics of under 18's (don't mean little kids as that's twisted)  in states of undress/explicitly posed?  Is this correct?

Yes but there is a caveat. If you are in a relationship with the said 16-18 year old then you can take pics as long as you don't distribute.

Whoever it is really needs to learn that the internet is full of free porn rather than spunking 35k on a one to one webcam with a 17 year old....apparently.

Yeah but we haven't cottoned on to the Internet in Wales yet. Bit behind the times.
