Mbappe:

“I will make a choice based on my sporting career, and my career is first and foremost, and I am at an age where I need to play, and that will be paramount.

“I’m not 35 or 36, an age where I have to manage [my body], I still have everything to learn, this year was discovery, and now comes the most important step: Confirmation.

“And I will be the sole decision-maker, and I will not go anywhere where I will be forced to go.”

"Gylfi Sigurdsson has reportedly turned down a £100,000-a-week offer from Everton after Swansea agreed to sell their star midfielder for £25m.

The Icelandic set-piece specialist – with nine goals and 13 assists in this Premier League season – is reportedly viewed as a replacement for Ross Barkley by Everton manager Ronald Koeman.

Sigurdsson clearly deserves more than a relegation struggle after an outstanding season, and he obviously feels he deserves a significant pay rise from the £80,000 a week he earns in Wales.

The Times claims that he has asked for £130,000 from Everton after being given permission by Swansea to talk to the Toffees after a £25m fee was agreed.

Tottenham have been linked with a return for Sigurdsson but Everton are probably a perfect fit for a player not quite good enough for a top-six club."

Id agree, he wouldnt be worth that fee or those wages- shame, he's a good player, he'll do well for them, but thats too much from our budget.

A lot of links from Spain and Portugal saying we have signed Iker Casillas to a pre contract deal

Maybe we're planning on sending Karius out on loan and need an old head to be number 2 behind Mignolet in the meantime.

In a world where the shite value Barkley at £50m I don't think £25m for Sigurdson is bad business. He's far better than Barkley, Sissoko, Fellaini and has a better out put than Gini so to suggest he's not in their price range is a bit of a dated outlook.

I agree with that - the fee and wage is fine, just not for us.

That is actually quite interesting.

You'd have to say that if it's true the most likely option is for him to stay at Monaco one more season, then.  He's not going to be first choice at Real Madrid/Barca/Bayern, and surely the only other team that can afford him at this point would be United.  And he's no fool - having seen what Jose does to young attacking wunderkinds he'd never move there, surely.

So that leaves staying at Monaco or another team on the up (like ourselves) making a bid well beyond what they normally would.  Maybe Atletico, flush with Griezmann cash or something, but it seems they're lining up Lacazette.

In the end, if he's not going to stay with Monaco then that quote might just mean we have a chance, even if it's a small one.  If we were willing to bid £65m then would we stretch to £80m?  Or maybe £75m with a big sell-on clause that will allow Monaco to benefit when he moves on to Real Madrid in 2 seasons?

The fee is the barrier; he'd surely be looking at us as an attractive option as he'd definitely be first choice for us and opposite Mane we could have a genuinely terrifyingly good attack.  Overall, I'd say it's pretty unlikely but there could just be the ghost of a chance.

Iker wouldnt be second choice to someone as shit as Mignolet. Vastly superior in every aspect

Aubameyang would be great for us. Failing that, id go for:-

Virgil Tracy or that Koulibaly

Chillwell

Keita

Douglas Costa

Werner

Gabigol

Add them to what we've got after getting rid of the malingerers then we'll have a serious squad that'll only need 1-2 in with the same out each summer. Hopefully not even that many
