Exactly. Every fucking hack on the planet is suddenly an aviation expert

A few weeks ago they all had PHDs in flood defenses  !

Back in the days when we didn't have rolling news channels they used to do strange things like just reporting facts. It was actually accpeted that this was their job. Information has been replaced with barrage of conjecture .

Jon Stewart had a great little piece on this the other day. Corporate "news" channels are ridiculous beyond belief.

They are. All these 24 hour news channels and specialised news channels like you say have to re-hash, and inevitably "speculate" (I.e. make up shite) just to try and keep people watching for advertising revenue. It's all tabloid TV bullshite.

It's obviously fine for websites like this to speculate and everyone loves a conspiracy theory (many comments on this thread and no doubt forums everywhere are testament to that) but TV, radio and print should be forced to have genuine facts as this level of bullshit is just helping make the world even more thick.

Crew order extra fuel all the time. They will have their optimum fuel levels +30 (or whatever is that airlines procedure) based on the flight plan and then if there is any reports of possible poor weather a long the way they will request extra fuel. Absolute standard procured and all part of dynamic flight planning.

Ah, yes. Fuel levels.

I thought some eejit would bring that up. As with most things, not only selective but downright lies in that story too. The "report" has been laughed out of it by proper authorities in the UK and EU. Ryanair do nothing different to BA, easyjet, Lufthansa, and any other of the big airlines.

It was a joke, Mich... I mean, Johnny.

Like most people, I like bitching about Ryan Air, while flying with them on a regular basis.

An Irish spotter has now found what they are describing as blue and wet off the coast of australia

The plot thickens

You didn't get the official communique?

We Irish are off comedic limits. Along with people of African descent, Jews, people of Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi descent (in the UK, but not America), and perhaps some others I've forgotten.

East Asians are still fair game, however.

haha!  That's a shame as I was going to big up the Irish capability - just last year when that Cessna light aircraft came down in a cemetery in Dublin and the rescuers with the assistance from the dog team managed to retrieve 432 bodies from the incident.
