There is nothing wrong with our midfield

West Ham did not want to know today, and the exact second they came under pressure this midfield disappears.

I have never known a CM to disappear as often as Gini does away from home.

Sorry but that is utter bollocks. If you think Wijnaldum disappeared in todays game you need a trip to the optician.

Lanzini is a good player, not really a midfielder though, is he? Took his goal well.

He's a midfielder in the same sense that Coutinho and Lallana are. Yesterday and most of this season we've had a full midfield of workhorses without a bit of creativity between them.

It works as long as Mane, Salah and Firmino, get the ball, create and score themselves.

The gegenpress creates the goals, man!

Playmaker extraordinaire!

I don't know.  Maybe him and Coutinho as the forward two in a midfield 3.  But then again, who knows what injuries we'll pick up between now and the end of the year?

I don't know, time will tell I'm sure.  I just can't see the pair ever being a regular midfield pairing and Coutinho better not be replacing mane or salah.

It does just take one injury to have them both back in the team tbf.

So apart from the back 5, we field 5 attacking midfielder and Jordan Henderson?

Those are probably the best players - although it would mostly likely be Firmino as centre forward with Mane and Salah in a 433. But we'd be relying solely on pressing the opposition for any amount of defence, a big risk.
