Well even I'm surprised by the amount of abuse in here..I was just saying that after 19 YEARS on no title, it was a great race and you have done better than any other time in the last 19 years! that is something to be proud of especially as Torres and Gerrard who carry Liverpool have been injured alot

 

What I meant by Chelski is that they sacked their manager because they were not playing well enough and they are only 3 points behind you...so if they get the right manager and start well they will be fav's for the title, United 2nd and you guys 3rd so the FACT is it will be harder for you next season.

 

I have seen some decent non-deluded fans on here so this is for them!

 

The common misconception is that Torres and Gerrard carry us. Given that we have had Torres for half a season and Gerrard for about two thirds of it, we can dismiss that claim as nonsense, as the rest of the team stepped up to the plate. Naturally we cannot dismiss their contribution when they play together. If you had Ronaldo and Rooney starting twelve games together, some of your results would have been different.

 

Harder for us next season ? We will see. The chavs have the right manager there now to make a difference, Ancelotti will not have the impact Hiddink does, and its just as well he is not likely to be staying around, at least for the time being. If Tevez and Barry join the squad (and Alonso stays), alongside some defensive cover, we will be well prepared to take it off of you. The pressure on you to keep it is immense after three seasons.

No offence, mate, but it's the tone of your original post that's riled so many people. I'm not sure if you intended it to be that way (because you actually seem an ok person) but it comes across as incredibly patronising and condescending. It's as if you're giving a plucky non-League credit for taking you to extra time in an FA Cup tie.

 

I don't think anybody can deny that you've been the best side this season (and for the last couple as well), but we're just concentrating on our own business from here on in. It's just what we do.
