Portugal could give Australia a game. Wales have every right to feel aggrieved, they will be playing a quarter final having not had a proper game for the guts of a month.

Wales were good but fucking hell the Aussies were atrocious.  Not suprising giving who coaches them.  It should be his last job in rugby the poisonous little twat.

 

Although its by far the poorer side of the drawer I think potential QF games of Wales v Argentia and England v Fiji could be a couple of corking games.   England will simply have to come out and play against Fiji otherwise it'll be a repeat of their recent defeat. Argentina completely fluffed their lines against England but they've shown more than enough in recent games that IF they are on it they can beat anyone.  Fiji just need to stick to what they do best and Wales are growning in confidence.  Still not a great team imo but they are hugely improved from 6 months ago.

The problem Australia have is hardly anyone plays rugby. When it was still an amateur(ish) sport they could compete with the best, now they’re being left behind.

Aussie Rules and Rugby League are far more popular and so take all the best athletes. Football is a way more popular sport too. Terminal decline is correct and I can’t see it changing.

Impressive performance by Ireland. But very worrying to see potential injuries to four key players in that second half.

Absolutely ruthless, that cross field kick for Ringrose's try was superb. Scotland tried to take to take it to them, but after 10-15 minutes of getting nowhere, Ireland just blew them away.

 

England stuttered to a slightly fortunate win against Samoa. If they didn't have a relatively favourable group, this could have been a bit of an embarrassment, but at least they're not as disjointed as under Jones.

The World Cup organisers have had a mare with the draw. The 4 strongest sides all face each other in the quarters, whereas the other half of the draw has England, Wales, a very inconsistent Fiji (assuming they get the point they lead to knock the Aussies out) and one out of the even more inconsistent Argentina or Japan.

 

Ireland looked very very strong and the scoreline in their match didn't reflect their dominance. England on the other hand looked shite, and what the fuck was Farrell doing taking an age over a straightforward penalty? Perhaps spend more time remembering there is a shot clock and less time doing that ridiculous path-of-the-ball head-tracking shit.

 

There are some really inbred-looking fuckers in rugby, such as the Ireland player with the mohawk mullet combo, and the Aussie with a head shaped like a peanut and a tache made out of pubes.

Farrell running out of time to take that penalty was ridiculous, incredibly sloppy and unprofessional. It got down to 15 seconds, and I was thinking, 'go on then, you'll still need a try or two more of these, stop farting around'. But he still kept stalling for no obvious reason. Bizarre.
