How are these two lads doing at chelsea that they reckon they gazumped us out of? I honestly haven't been paying attention. I've seen some clips of that £100m lad and he looks like David Blunket in a funhouse.

'Hapless' would be a good description for Caicedo. Not sure the other fella's even had a start yet.

City have been selling off their depth players for a couple of seasons now, been some really weird squad management decisions from them. Maybe they’ve shat themselves about the PL ruling or maybe Abu Dhabi are losing a bit of interest, we know money is no object for them historically so it’s strange that their squad is so thin.

I've  a feeling this is on Pep, he's doing everything he can to get credit. He wants the net spend as low as possible, the squad size as low as possible, make it all about his glorious achievements with a rag tag squad.

Losing Mahrez and Gundogan was massive, they were 2 of the main controllers in that team, add De Bruyne missing, Grealish summering well and they look an ordinary team with a great striker. They have the world club championship coming up too, real chance to build a lead on them.

Another factor is the league itself, Sunday was a great example. Fulham are not a relegation contender, there are no contenders, just 3 certainties. This frees up Fulham, Bournemouth, Wolves etc to have a go at the bigger teams. At least provide some entertainment. Meekly accepting 2 nil Hodgson style defeats isn't washing any more.

Interesting thought.

Either they're shitting themselves over the 115 charges and they're desperately trying to recover their net spend so they don't seem as dodgy, and they're now realising how difficult it is to live like the rest of us peasants.

Or Pep has a complex over people saying he's bought the trophies rather than them all being won through nothing but his sheer genius, so he wanted to prove a point by going a season with a negative net spend and a small squad, but he's now realising  that everyone might have been right about him.

Everton arnt going down so hopefully they can get something against Newcastle tonight(it won't happen). Be nice to keep them away. Especially with Arsenal up soon and losing Endo/Salah for a month in January

I think two weeks of that month is the winter break so it’s likely to be only a couple of league games they’re missing.

First match I ever went to in 1977, finished 4 - 4 I think a similar result tonight.
