I've stood 5 times now and got between 170 and 300 each time.

If I had time I'd campaign and see if I could make a proper dent.

The Knowsley Labour Party are Blairite shithouses, they wouldn't know socialism of it sat on their faces and wriggled.

One of my mates was in a small group of Knowsley Labour activists who were really keen on doing stuff with the community and getting more residents actively engaged with the party.  The CLP hierarchy squashed that democratic Socialist madness before it could properly get started.

As Bruce says, they only do them for general elections. The parties often have tellers outside polling stations who will ask who you voted for (you don't have to answer), and they'll have internal lists of party members they will contact to make sure they voted. So they'll get a general idea, but it won't be spot on especially in a really tight race. Fraud is pretty much non-existent anyway, although the Tories will try and hype it up to justify voter suppression.

Strange they don't have them for important mayoral elections like London.

Yes, I was going to say that in a democracy it is hard to pull off election fraud, despite what people believe.

Sorry didn't understand your first sentence.

But I agree with the second. My point is just that there are actual issues that relates to people living there that may see a swing in votes over and above the culture war bollocks people will be desperate to attribute any change to.

How am I trying to make it one? In some borough's it either is or has caused additional expense (Hillingdon for instance, where the justification has typically ignored the presence of the biggest airport in the country) and the people most affected are more likely to be lower income traditional labour voters that might go elsewhere, hence my speculation ("imagine").

The London mayor swings from one end to another and very few leave the office more popular than when they entered.

Apols

Been a long day

She seems to have a well funded social media campaign behind her.

Even now the message Is getting pumped out,she has either won or its a fix

Yes, they are, they're just called election officials or officers. Usually serious minded old biddies.

I did it yesterday

Long fucking day like.

There is very little chance of fraud imho.

We've had it rammed down our necks for the past 4 years or so that everyone in Blackpool was stupid. They've voted Labour in now so they must've all spent the last few years completing a open university course.

17% voted reform

Can’t believe this post hasn’t been eviscerated, genuinely one of the most sinister posts I’ve ever read on here. It really is so easy to see how things like Gulags and Holocausts start. Extremely dangerous thinking.

It’s also exactly the kind of thinking that gives credence to the horseshoe theory.

Oh well, not like I campaigned, can't be too disappointed.

That is fucking woeful.

Only joking, fair fucks to you for actually getting out there and having a go. More than most will ever do. I doff my cap to you.

Cheers bud, it's about average for a paper candidate, especially for a non-target seat.

Bit sad we didn't take any of our target seats this time, but we're getting there as a party. The activists who actually do the campaigning are hard working feisty buggers.

I commented on the post a couple of times, I wasn't sure if it was a piss take or not. If he meant it, he's a cunt, if it was a pisstake then ok it just wasn't a funny one.

Starmer’s done well by not kowtowing to the councillors who jumped ship over gaza too. In today's febrile climate it'd have been an open goal for Reform and the Tories.

Personally I'd be fucking fuming if liverpool city Council was now being run by independents who'd only won on a foreign policy issue, rather than my bins and school meals.

Send Galloway and his ilk back to the fires of Mount doom from whence they came.

There can be only one son of caesar, and there's no scraps in Starmer’s scrapbook.

In fairness to Liverpool Independents, their big thing is the budget for local services: Gaza is a side-issue, at most.

His point is not even shared amongst the people he claims it is. Here's Labours shadow defence secretary.
