It's based on Romano saying they were in for Salah before signing Messi, and are currently looking for an Mbappe replacement.

Cheers. Seems an odd takeaway from that article if I'm honest mate. He seems confident Salah stays.

We've seen this before though. We've had multiple contract impasses under Jurgen and every time the player has left for free. I can't see the club allowing that with Salah. He is way too valuable.

Fair point. I still get the feeling he stays, but if it's true we're in the mix for Bellingham it's hard not to think that might be earmarking the potential Salah fee.

We've got no choice.

Why would he sign for anyone a year early and avoid a massive Bossie payday?

Particularly when he's happy here.

Hint - he won't.

We'll just have to force him to move. We need the £100m+ that he can give us. There is no scenario where he should be allowed to leave for free.

And how do you propose we do that?

By telling him if he truly cares about the club he'd want what's best for it. I don't think we should go down the route of keeping him on the sidelines for a season personally, but we can't lose Salah and have no money to reinvest. That's fundamental.

The only clubs likely to pay a fee for him in the summer are PSG and English clubs. Would you be happy to sell him to City or Chelsea if he doesn't want to play in the French league?

I think he'll end up at PSG if he doesn't sign a new contract. That seems most logical. However, in a scenario where he was going to leave on a free, I probably would sell him to City in exchange for a player and some cash, rather than see him walk out the door for nothing.

If he doesn't sign a new contract that opens the door to a lot more teams. I would rather he went to Barcelona on a free than sell him to City personally.

Would you rather we had Sterling or Grealish and some money or be left playing Elliot on the right and Chamberlain and Keita in midfield? I know what I'd prefer personally.

That's your version of force, is it?

Let's see if it catches on.
