Bloody hell cant believe Squeeze won that.

One of those votes which was always going to be tight. Both bands emerged in the late 70's and many of us grew up on their music. I went for The Police myself as although I love Squeeze, I believe The Police had far better studio Albums and were a bit more versatile in the Genres they covered over time. A lot of people also forget the amount of great songs both bands had, especially Squeeze. Up the Junction, Labelled with Love Pulling Mussels (my favourite), Another nail in my Heart, Cool for Cats.....all great songs with cracking lyrics.

Just invent a wild card mate.

True, but you can look at the band on a whole and what they achieved. Sting was Ok ish until he left them.

One other thing about this. I'm trying to be objective in my vote and base it not only on my like/dislike of a band but what they achieved as a band (not what certain members went on to do in a solo career) and the impact it had on British music abroad as well as at home. Like I said earlier, I love Squeeze, but if you mention them abroad most people will not have heard of them, The Police on the other hand are a household name with most age groups.

Repped. I’m just voting for my favourites.

Certain match ups leave that option open as I've just not heard enough stuff of one/the other/ or either band.
