Bt early to start the match thread but i've won the last 2 so fuck it. I hate this fixture. Last 2 times i've been the emirates, we have been bummed. I do think Merson could have been spot on though (for once) when he said that Arsenal haven't played anyone decent in their run and once Liverpool get at them they will shit themselves. Is Milner back for this? If so I reckon he has to start. Robbo will be back in place of Moreno too. Hope he goes with Gomez over Lovren. Arsenals front 2 are fast. 

 

If we can get a win here we can really start to fucking believe. Our next 8 fixtures after that are all very winnable games the way we are playing:

I'd like it to be Shaq but it won't be - probably Fabinho. If that's the case then Milner has to play a pretty advanced role. We could do with Keita for this one.

Without being brilliant I thought that he linked attack and midfield pretty well at Spurs - hard to see any of teh others (apart from Shaq) doing that.

The link between the midfield and the attack is virtually non existent without him.

 

He'll also be perfect for helping with countering with some vision, directness and pace - which is how we have done well against Arsenal in recent times.

I tend to agree but for me he needs to play - we are a different team with him in.....he sparks the front 3, he makes things happen, he runs at people, he has great vision and he just makes us more threatening.

Why in the utter fuck would you choose to weaken two positions, massively at that.   Gomez has been immense this season at centre back and looks like a poor man's Andre Wisdom at right back.

Run out the double-pivot again with Fabinho and Wijnaldum. Let the fullbacks at them, which means it has to be Robertson and TAA.

 

The hardest position to pick is the AM, we don't really have an ideal candidate when we play the 4-2-3-1. Shaqiri looks pretty good there Jurgen doesn't play him there much, Milner and Henderson are better suited for a 3-man midfield, and Lallana is slower than concrete. Naby might be an option but he's unlikely to be ready for this game.

 

Still think we'll beat them and all. No matter how we line up our midfield is likely to outplay theirs and our defense is MILES better.

Has to be Gomez and vvd as a pair with Trent and Robertson either side. 

 

I think it's Milner, Wijnaldum and Henderson with Shaq as an impact sub.    Fabinho is being eased in and I expect him to play against red star and Fulham.

 

Lovren and Lallana can play against red star and fulham.  Where is Clyne?  Rather he played lb than Moreno.
