Premium Sport are reporting this evening that the agent of Bordeaux star #Malcom is flying to England to speak with both Liverpool and Tottenham about potentially signing the Brazilian.

Klopp would also like to sign Alisson Becker. If Roma, who have some financial issues to address, show a willingness to do business Liverpool would move swiftly for the Brazil No 1. (Dominic King)

Liverpool deserve credit for getting this over the line - Lyon wanted to incite a post-World Cup bidding war but a mixture of Fékir's wishes & LFC convinced them otherwise. Chelsea = were the only concrete competitor at this stage of the window. Manager situation cost them.

Shaqiri is of interest but not a priority at the moment. *Telegraph*

A goalkeeper remains on Klopp’s wish list, but negotiations with Roma are proving difficult as they are reluctant to sell Alisson, and especially to Liverpool having allowed Mohamed Salah to move to Anfield for only £36.9 million a year ago, says @_pauljoyce

Liverpool have an interest in Stoke City’s Xherdan Shaqiri, but it is understood that the Switzerland player’s release clause is more than the £12 million that has been publicly stated. (Paul Joyce)

It's all over twitter that it's the medical that was the problem.

I'm guessing that would mean that something in his scan didn't look good, presumably the knee he did the ACL on two years ago. That will put the cat amongst the pigeons in terms of our recruitment - I'm sure we have a plan B but it will take some time to get negotiations moving one would suspect.

If it is a medical issue that would explain Lyon's statement. They'll still want to sell him so they undoubtedly won't want it to come out that he has an issue.

Guardian still saying it’ll get done today, despite Lyon’s statement, which when you read it again doesn’t really deny a deal has happened, just the details, unless somethings lost in translation. They state ‘false information’. Could mean the fee.

We have a saga !!!

Just because twitterati mob say stuff does not mean a thing. People put far too much note on twitter which is basically like a load of washer women chatting rubbish over the garden fence.

Nabil Fekir underwent his medical prior to his transfer to Liverpool on Thursday night in Clairefontaine, France's training base. Liverpool are now waiting for the results before officially announcing the transfer. (RMC)

Despite Lyon issuing a strongly-worded denial, Nabil Fekir is on the verge of becoming Jürgen Klopp’s second major transfer of the summer, with Anfield officials having agreed a deal worth an initial €55m. Via @guardian_sport
