There seems to be a few knives out over VVD and the VVD transfer. A few looking to jump all over it.

I'd say there is some caution surrounding his recent injury problems as its nothing new for us to splash out big money on players who spend a fair amount of time on the treatment table. It's obvious he's got ability but the only doubt is potential injury problems. The fact he is a very big lad may be a factor in niggling injuries too,but we just want him fit to play most of the time.

Thought the back 4 was good yesterday

Stupid pen(2nd), the first was a dive and offside. The Wanyama goal was a freak he wouldn't hit it like that again 99 out of 100 times. Other than that for all Spurs possession they created fuck all

He’s been pretty good in every game he’s played. We were getting battered at times in that second half because the midfield and the forwards couldn’t keep the ball and Lovren and Van Dijk pretty much dealt with it all. We are usually good at restricting teams from creating chances but against Spurs and City it’s almost impossible. He is as good in the air as I’d hoped he’d be and he reads the game very well.

Yesterday was his best game for us by a mile. I don't think he's been great before that. As Klopp said the other day, we probably won't see the best of him until next season - he essentially hasn't played much football for a year. He'll prove to be a really good signing, I expect. The question is whether anybody currently at the club is good enough to partner him.

Load of fucking shite

OK, a £22 mil player at best.

All joking aside I thought he was excellent yesterday. His tackling in the first half, especially the tackle against Son was world class.

He needs a good partner beside him though. I really thought Matip would have been the man but he looks very shaky this season.
