You will never know who the owners really are as people dude.

You will probably satisfy yourself with their press release, and leave it at that as we all do.

No one who owns us is going to be a lovely person I can almost guarantee you that. It's filthy lucre. This. Is. Football.

I'm talking in a grander sense. About how good they are for the club, how they act as owners. Hicks and Gillet were a constant embarrassment, ran up debt to a level that almost killed us, fucked with the manager, fucked with the signings and running of the club, but they did spend some money and get us to being the top ranked team over five years, and some very exciting times and players. I'm just saying, mate, careful what you wish for.

For me, the Oligarchs at City are running the club well and with money. They're the next step on from our crew. Finding that type of owner isn't going to be easy, and it's far more likely we get a Mike Ashley, a Randy Learner, a group like at Arsenal, or another Hicks and Gillet than it is the Abi Dhabi lot st City, or even the Russian gangster at Chelsea.

I want us to win as well, mate; but I'm just saying, let's look before we leap.

It's not even about spending loads of money. It's about competence. If they would've signed the likes of Dele Alli, Salah, Zielinski, Guerreiro etc the first time around (ie all those players they offered derisory amounts to the selling clubs for) we'd have an excellent squad right now and would've saved potentially hundreds of millions in the process.

They are simply incapable of getting the deals over the line that will improve us. Whether that be £10m for a young player with great potential or £50m for guaranteed quality. This is chickens coming home to roost for years of incompetence and overzealous penny pinching.

The problem we have is that the value of the club has risen so much while they have been in charge that it would be difficult to get someone to buy us now.

The value of the club has risen mainly due to the TV deal, worldwide exposure and sponsors rather than any massive investment from them.

Agreed but I read somewhere that someone is looking to buy Spurs for £1 billion so there is money out there to buy us. We need to be sold on and soon before we fall so far behind the others that Klopp just thinks what's the point

We've signed some good players in their tenure, we've missed out on some good players, we've signed some bad players, we've missed out on some bad players, etc. We've overpaid for shite, we've got good value, we've had a few lucky escapes and, as you say, we've missed out on some good players seemingly due to tightness and/or incompetence.

FSG have been in charge of us for seven years.

If you look at all the trophies we have won over the years, this is our least successful period since we were promoted from the second division. This, in a time when Leicester city won the league title by 10 points.

These three facts are not unrelated, and it takes a tremendous amount of skill to pretend they have nothing to do with each other.

Just after finished reading the latest TLW Diary. It really shows up how incompetent we are in terms of transfers when its listed out the history/detail of whats happened recently it shows up how we don't have the right people in charge or the owners are not giving the people in charge the necessary control/power to make deals happen.

How does it all work this transfer malarkey?

I assume it used to be you declared an interest in a player to a club and they told you whether or not they were for sale. If they were, you asked permission to speak to them. You spoke or met with them and decided whether to make a bid. You did business with the club then agreed terms with the player.

These days you declare an interest through the media and wait for something else to happen through the media. Well that's how it appears anyway. Wouldn't surprise me if it was sky who were signing players for teams and nobody has a fuck what's going on at the club's 'i thought you signed him 'I didn't sign him I thought you did '
