Anyone else get a piece of this? He's 1/8 favourite now, must be the PFA staff banging a load of cash on him. I've €20 on it at 15/1

Yes Giggs is still favourite and all the papers today seems to indicate that it will go to him.

Andy Gray on the last word said he's only started 12 games this season.

Lots of players need cattle prods to do anything like bother to vote. They should call it player of the season and do the voting in May and announce it on the eve of the cup final. Or call it player of the year and announce it in December. I gather the PFA have to practically force some teams to get their written nominations in at the last minute, even though most players these days are emailing, twittering and go knows what non-stop. It's hoplessly inefficient and a bit shambolic in terms of results.

How the fuck Giggs can win player of the year when he isnt good enough to start most of United's games is beyond me

we know he is comming to the end of his career but its shit if it is a sentiment vote in time gone by he has indeed been the player of ther season but not this year and it would be an insult to a great player to give him it with a sympathy vote

Bizarre, but why would every voting pro come to the same conclusion that Giggs has either a) done enough to merit it or b) deserved the sympathy vote? It's not like Giggs has torn up any trees this year, seems a bit odd to me how everyone suddenly decided to vote for a player that's hardly played. Dodgy.
