Mr Gugino is a longtime social justice activist in Buffalo, according to advocacy group Push (People United for Sustainable Housing).

He "has been a tireless fighter against injustice of all types for many years in our city both with Push and other grassroots organisations," they said in a statement, condemning police for his treatment.

He’s may very well be a cunt but he’s right about this bending the knee nonsense, makes me cringe and the majority won’t mean it anyway.

Maybe so,but if you ask many people why African American Olympic medalists raised their fists in salute in 1968 in Mexico they'd know what it represented.

Bit of an unfortunate organisational name for me Clive

Thousands in Parliament square protesting for George Floyd and all that comes with it.

I am fully being the meaning behind it. I am fully pissed off with them for gathering en-masse when its going to ultimately kill people who have fuck all to do with it. 80% of the people there will either be there for an Instagram opportunity, "I was there" or to cause trouble.

Its going to kick off.

Dive by the Sword.

Top American Soccer pundit for Fox Sports, Joe Machnik said 'It was a clear dive, the classic take two steps back before taking a dive and cushioning the blow with the back of your head when you hit the concrete. We need to stamp kneel this sort of stuff out of the beautiful game, Go USA!'

I think Floyd is just a catalyst for protests outside the US - the energy there seems to be about a defining moment on inequality - social and economic - which has come into focus like never before due to the virus. So it is part of the deal.

I think it’s in France but this is probably still the appropriate thread given I think it’s linked to the George Floyd protests.

White people in France taking the mick out of the French police because a black man got killed by the US police. And filming it for social media for likes, obviously.

Nothing's sacred any more is it? Not even outrage. Everything rings hollow.

I don't think their star wars branded mickey taking is really laying anything at the feet of their own police. Seems pretty jovial. Depends what lens you're looking through I guess.

I understand & sympathise with the reason behind the protests but they are complete & utter stupidity at the moment.

The people taking part want to have a fucking word with themselves.

Write to your MP, donate some money to related cause, put a sign in your window, anything other than helping the spread of this virus.

I think what I am getting at is the reaction worldwide is fueled by the realities of inequality the virus has laid bare - most of those about the government (pick one) reaction to it and the consequences of how those are being translated to the common man.

So to continue a government strategy (that lets face it, was not even practiced by them) seems to be a little pointless.

That seems to be a common theme through the world right now.

The only thing moreso is the idea that putting a sign up in your window has ever changed anything - that is why you are seeing a global visceral reaction imo. It is a unique time in history and if we are all lucky the virus will be remembered as a catalyst to the societal changes that followed - affecting far more lives than the virus has.

If we are unlucky, you will see a local spike in the areas of "protests" and you will be back to work on Monday.

It's going off in London now.

I can sympathise with the topic of the protests (but, whilst there's institutional racism in the UK police and police brutality too, it does seem a bit of jumping on the bandwagon) but it's absolute lunacy to do it in the current situation, what with a highly contagious virus floating around and that.

Good time to cause trouble and break the law as you're actually encouraged to wear a mask .

I've been wondering for a while if one of the reasons for the reluctance to make them mandatory is 'cos it'll fuck up their facial recognition software.
