This unexploded car bomb...

To be honest it was too shit to even be a believeable 'stunt'.

What kind of terrorists drive their car down the road at 2am, crashing into bins and then leave it blatantly abandoned?

I do agree that it may have been spun to appear to be a more organised and serious threat than it was.

You might all get your chance to vote for a new PM: the papers are still speculating about a snap autumn election as a long shot and a poll next year at much shorter odds.

Yep, could be on the cards.

Did anyone see that feature on Newsnight a few nights ago which had a guy trying to ask Gordon Brown a question? It basically showed how his team would use any means to make sure he avoided answering one. Even funnier was when he called the Tories, went to where he'd been informed Cameron was on his daily business and an obviously well briefed leader of the opposition sold himself as Mr Approachable, friend to all people; smarmy cunt.

I think it'll be May 2008. Labour are close to bankruptcy and only dodgy union loans are keeping them afloat; I don't think they can afford to make it any later.

an absolute pile of shite if you ask me, just your government doing what the yanks did and creating mass hysteria,

sure just listen to that little scrae mongering prick Trevor mcDonald, he`s the same, all bollocks

Tell that to the 50 odd people who stopped breathing on July 7th.

Well those guys didn't crash their car on the way and leave all the evidence behind.

Oh right. We should only arrest the professional terrorists then? any clueless terrorist should just be left to blow people to bits so that they can gain experience and become better at it.

Would you deny that the government are perpetuating a cuture of fear and exaggerating when ever they can?

I don't deny that at all. But there's a big difference between exaggerating threats for political gain and actually creating those threats in the first place, which is what some seem to be suggesting.

Because 'selling' fear is a real vote-getter in Britain, isn't it?

It allows you to get your hands on resources that you need and to push through policies that you want to push through, such as I.D. cards. It's not really about votes; although killing hundreds of thousands of people for oil will lead to a loss of votes unless you have a justification. The contstant and unrelenting threat of terrorism is that justification.

And then he will be truly enlightened.

Ha, ha!!! I originally wrote "...all that 9/11 shite Adam's so obsessed with", but then I suddenly had a mental block and thought it might not be you who was into all that. I wish I'd stuck to my guns now.

I'm not obsessed with it. I just think it's blatantly obvious that the powers that be were complicit. You should watch the documentary The Power of Nightmares. You then realise that the US government has always perpetuated a climate of fear.
