if you are a fan of hip hop (and not that crappy new-age 50 cent shit) then i advise you to check out the following groups (all probably available to hear on youtube if you want tasters)

Souls of Mischief - 93 til infinity

Notorious B.I.G - Ready to die

Big L - Lifestylez ov da poor an dangerouz (unfortunate that he just "blew up" when the biggie/2pac beef was in full swing- probably the best lyricist i have ever heard)

Jay Z - Reasonable Doubt

Nas - Illmatic

Snoop Dogg - Doggy Style

Blue & Exile - Below the heavens

Wu Tang - Forever

GZA - Liquid Swords

Raekwon - Built 4 the cuban linx

Ghostface - supreme clientel

thats for starters!

might i add that anything by Masta Ace, Del Tha Funkee Homosapian, Kool G Rap, Jeru Da Damaja, Gangstarr, Group Home, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Big Daddy Kane, 2pac, Black Sheep, The bootcamp Clik etc etc etc is also awesome!

The GTA strip club has rekindled a love for this tune, which has sex dripping out of every pore: YouTube - Minnie Riperton "Inside My Love"

Which will always be linked, in my head, to both of these:

YouTube - DIDN'T I BLOW YOUR MIND THIS TIME/DELFONICS

YouTube - Foxy Brown-(Holy Matrimony) Letter To The Firm

That Tarantino boy knows how to put a soundtrack together.

Interesting choice for first post sir. Welcome!

I reccomend that any Sigur Ros fans that don't own Ba Ba Ti Ki Di Do get down to HMV and pick it up in their 2 for £10 deal they currently have on.

MySpace.com - METRO MANILA AIDE - Liverpool, UK - www.myspace.com/metromanilaaide

My favourite local band in a long, long time.

And

MySpace.com - Cubic Jinx - UK - Other / Alternative - www.myspace.com/cubicjinx

Some of the recordings or most of them on here are from the original line up from a few years ago. Watch the little video down on the left for a taste on their latest vibe.

Bon Iver

Currently supporting Iron and Wine on tour, the album is supposedly very very good.

The Johnny Foreigner album has gone on pre-order and is due for release June 2nd, well worth getting.

I like some of this guy's stuff. Found this clip on youtube; really powerful performance (unfortunately it does feature 30 seconds of Jools and Roland Rivron doing their bizarre best mates shit).

Also had a listen to Lily Allen's new track, I don't know, on her myspace site. Lyrically excellent as usual and a bit more poppy than her usual stuff.
