Thats a great result.

My dad passed away on kick off so hopefully hes beaming now.

Sorry to hear this. My Dad passed in October and he always phoned me at the final whistle. Today I was thinking Dad would have said ‘well that was good wasn’t it’.

It's amazing how quickly a narrative becomes fact.

From BBC;

Darwin Nunez with 10 goals and 10 assists is the first player to reach double figures for both goals and assists in all competitions for Premier League clubs this season.

Also need to do something about Paul Tierney. Didn’t cost is today but the fucking dickhead has tried his level best to fuck us over this season Mac red card against these earlier in season, the fucking Burnley game chalking off 2 goals with a grin on his ugly face and today clear red card and pen just ignored. Fucking prick.

The first half was like a cup tie against a lower division opponent, where we dominate possession against a team who are up for it, but we still look very scruffy so struggle to create any real openings. Throw in gale force winds and it becomes a tricky encounter.

Second half was a different matter, as we started to open Bournemouth up and were ruthless with our chances. The Bournemouth fans had given Darwin stick all game with the "shit Andy Carroll" chants, and he shut them up alright. This is a guy who has put 3 past them in the own stadium in the last couple of months. What would a good Andy Carroll do to them, never mind a Darwin at the top of his game? Diogo did what Diogo does, a bit scruffy in general play but has moments where he carries and uses the ball well, and he can finish.

I'm glad Kluivert wasn't given a red card as it was an unfortunate coming together with Lucho, much like Curtis at Spurs. The difference then was Darren England in the VAR booth sticking his oar in where it wasn't required, and also showing the ref a still of the moment of contact rather than the entire incident in real time. I hope Klopp wasn't telling the 4th official that they should have checked it, as doing so vindicates Darren England and his 'good process'. Tierney was on VAR for this one so he probably went for a shit or was streaming Love Island anyway. The only bad call was the ref waving play-on when Diogo was wiped out on the edge of the area. We could possibly have had a penalty later on but we rarely get those in real time, and Tierney in the VAR booth was probably busy having a wank to some Mexican midget porn.

I would love it if we could finish a game without a player going off injured. Hopefully Curtis is OK but the way he was wincing and holding the back of his leg suggests another hamstring problem. I'm hoping that we have some of the other walking wounded available again from midweek as we could use some extra (experienced) bodies so as not to run the others into the ground.

What a fantastic result that was.  Tricky game against opponents in very good form.  Number of players missing and challenging weather conditions.  Clean sheet, Jota continuing his good form since coming back from injury and a couple fo confidence boosting goals for Nunez as well. Can't really ask for anymore tbh.

Condolences to @bossy @BeefStroganoff & @suzy  As much as I kinda have fallen out of love for the game these days it still has this amazing impact that touches you and brings people (especially families) together in good and bad times.  I hope in period of sadness & mourning the tricky reds have managed to lift your spirits and provided joy even if its just momentarily.
