Last night was German style with everyone chipping in with stuff. A variable misch mash of Russian/German type salads, some nice, some not so. I made a butternut pumpkin, potato and carrot soup which was lovely. Baguettes and  homemade bread. We had various types of meat including Schaschlik, Chicken Kiev, Sirloin steaks and this yule type log made with minced beef and egg running through the middle.

Today is leftovers with an oven full of new roasties.

Tomorrow we are doing our English style Xmas dinner. Roast Duck, lamb shanks done slowly in a red wine and red currant sauce. Roast spuds, parsnips. Potato puree, green beans done in a bacon wrap with garlic sauce. Red cabbage with apple (missus wants some, although I like it myself). Peas and carrots and a another sauce without alcohol, think I'll go for an orange based sauce to compliment the Duck. I better not get to pissed today.............
