You're trying too hard to find a pattern or a hypothesis that almost guarantees a successful transfer. There obviously isn't. But if you're telling me none of those Belgium u21's are gong to be world class then you're a very brave man.

What we need is a centre back that's brilliant in the air and a centre back that's fast and good at recovery tackles in a situation where the opponent hits us on the counter. 

 

Non of our central defenders are fast or particularly good in the air. Kurt Zouma is pretty fast and Van Dijk is a monster in the air. Them two would sort our problems out at the back. 

 

We also need a really strong goalkeeper. I don't know why we're looking at spending up to £90m on Lemar when we'd be much better off spending £50-£60m on Oblak.

If we were looking for a striker for any particular reason, Kevin Gameiro at Atletico is starting to get marginalized more and more, and with Diego Costa's arrival in January, he'll probably play even less.

 

He'd be brilliant for Klopp's style, albeit he's getting a bit old. He'd be a short-term option.
