IF Daisy Ridley (Rey) is the new lead I'm actually really excited.

 

So much emotion is being conveyed with her facial expressions in the trailer. Just watch it back again.

 

Seems to be a great casting. Subtle Loneliness (while a spaceship is leaving the planet in the trailer) anger later and then pain/crying.

 

Seems an emotional person. Can see her being tempted to the dark side in the next film

 

Finn using Anakins/Lukes lightsaber is just a distraction to who will be the Jedi, in my view. He's always behind her in the scenes they have together.

 

She's the lead.

I rewatched the prequel trailers for research purposes and I'm happy to report that they really are shit (the third one is okay). Cautiously optimistic now, given that this trailer is brilliant.

I did the same and I was a little ashamed about how much I buzzed off the Phantom Menace trailer at the time because it looks shit now. There's nothing in it, apart from Darth Maul, that makes you think the film will be good. Also agree that Revenge of the Sith's trailer is at least passable. Attack of the Clones is the worst prequel movie by far; no redeeming features whatsoever.

It's an interesting idea but I'd say it's no chance.

 

Plus he's skinny as a rake where Hammil is in the shape you'd expect for someone a little older.

 

I personally think Ren is the son of Han and Leia but no idea really. A lot of speculation that he was stolen as a boy from Luke's Jedi academy and then brainwashed...etc

 

Not seen any legs to that theory though. Just pure fan speculation and not a spoiler. The makers did say early on that the film concentrates around the Skywalker family and Luke and Leia only seem to be bit parts, but no idea really.

I'll give that a watch so. Never has a film left me as confused as Prometheus did, I was so pumped going into it and came out not knowing whether it was actually any good. Still baffles me why Charlize Theron kept running in a straight line from the falling spaceship as well.

Really wanna know who Ren is. Does anyone think it's Luke?

 

At a push he was trained by Luke and went rogue (prompting Luke to scarper) but he's probably a Skywalker/Solo (with Rey being the other Skywalker/Solo and Finn not being a jedi at all despite all the promo's).

 

Looking at the staff Rey carries around it has a familiar light saber-esque shape to the top of it.

 

The one who has gone under the radar so far is who is Supreme Leader Snoke (played by Serkis and the real big bad in the film). It's a complete motion capture character and maybe a Muun (rumours of Darth Plageuis).
