We always show good support away but today was outstanding. Well in to the lads who went and stood in that shithole today with all those thousands of cunts and didn't stop singing for the whole ninety minutes. Superb.

Video refs 1 2

I think football is too big an industry not to be making use of video refs at games. Since there are highlights from every professional league game I don't see why officials can't use the monitors the TV crews use for penalty decisions, sending offs and to decide whether or not the ball has crossed the line. It would take the same amount of time for the ref to ask for the video ref to review it as it would for him to consult his assistants. Obviously when you get up to the championship and premier league, a lot of stadiums have big screens now anyway so everyone would be able to see the decision and it would take a lot of the conning out of football. If this was brought i…

Work-rate. Incisiveness. Nous. I don't ask for much. This is how it's gonna be. Build from the ground up. So now we focus only on the league, not only needing to make sure that we take care of our business, but also hoping the other two contenders shit down their own leg at some point. All 3 have made a right bollock-up of their European quarter finals. Our failure was the disaster at home to Atalanta. City did not put Real Madrid to bed at the Emptyhad. Arsenal showed 'inexperience' against one of the weakest-looking Bayern sides in recent memory. The first is entirely on us. The second is another example of an Ancelotti side being on …

Random quotes below by Eamonn Dunphy, Irish football commentator. I'll let the quotes speak for themselves... ON Cisse: " here we have Cisse, right wing, attempts to put in a cross, BANG...hits the full back, again BANG hits the full back, BANG...off the full back again, and once more, BANG...smacks the full back again.... Millions of euro and he can't clear the first man, I mean...what's he trying to do to the full back here, Kill him??" On Kewell: "Eamon, how did you rate Harry Kewell ?" "Fat. And a clown. A fat clown for all to see." On Fowler: "An overweight has been. He's got more money than Liverpool!" On Mourinho: "A bluffer who just got…

I'm starting this thread to specifically to talk about how Klopp has been setting us up in the first 5 games and how we might or have set up in future games. I think there are some posters on here who really have a real interest in the specific details of our tactical approach and it would be cool to discuss exactly what has changed since he took over and what direction we will take in the future under Klopp. Personally, i have watched the first 5 games with huge interest. I'm sad enough to admit i have watched a few games over and over, rewinding certain parts and wanking over lots of moments. Saddo, yes, but i coach myself and I'm interested in this shit. I lov…

Urgh. What a sickening weekend. Literally in my case, I missed the Palace game after being up all night spewing and shitting. I maybe could have made the game but I was worried about shitting myself. Maybe some of the players should have been as cautious as me and stayed away too. It wasn’t just our players shitting all over themselves though, Arsenal’s did too. I’ll get to them in a bit. The early game on Saturday saw Spurs get their pants pulled down at Newcastle. 4-0 flattered them in the end, they were woeful and their high line got utterly dismantled. It amazes me this doesn’t happen to them all the time, Same with Villa. I watch them defend and think the…

The easy thing to say here is that the damage was done in the first leg. Obviously it was, but that’s not what I want to hear today as I feel like it’s excusing the clueless, lifeless and gutless second half we saw here. This tie was not over after last week. It certainly wasn’t over when we pulled a goal back within seven minutes and I don’t think any of us thought it was over when we went in at half time with a one goal lead, primed for a second half charge. So to just say now “yeah the damage was done last week” feels like it’s excusing the inexcusable. We had a chance to still turn this around and had we got a second goal Atalanta would probably have folde…

I really dont know how this 'man' keeps his job as a writer, never mind so called chief sports writer on a paper. His favourite hobby horse as we all know, is that owners should be allowed to funnel as much of their own money into a club without restriction. How the money comes to the owners in the first place, whether through porn, ill gotten gains or just accident of birth as in the case ofthe owners of PSG, manchester city and now newcastle united, is of no consequence to samuel. It's their money and they can do what they want with it. The cunt will be welcoming drug barons to the PL next. All this accomplished so others can buy the 'dream' of a…

Afternoon lovely people. Just an enquiry, I'm clearing my parents house out before it goes up for sale, and I'm wondering if anybody knows if there would be any interest in old Liverpool programmes and fanzines. The programmes are from between 1999 and 2002, mostly home programmes but 1 or 2 aways. The fanzines are TTWAR only I think, and are from issues 42 to 51. There may be more of both lying around, but that's what I've found so far. They're mostly in decent nick, 1 or 2 of the programmes may have a loose page or 2. If there is any interest (i.e. looking to complete collections etc), reply to this…

The Reds bowed out of Europe with barely a whimper. Technically they won on the night, but nobody was fooled by that as Atalanta out-thought and out-fought Klopp's side, who once again failed to muster a goal from open play. Chris Smith is joined by John Brennan and TLW Editor Dave Usher to briefly pick through the bones of this stinker before trying to lift the mood a little by reminiscing about some of our greatest European moments under Jurgen. They bought our club on the cheap knowing fuck all about football, appointed an incompetent amateur to run the club's operations while remaining detached and disinterested thousands of miles away, haven't invested any of their own money into the playing squad, have made no progress with the stadium, hung our manager, players and fans out to dry after they were fucked over by a corrupt FA and then set upon by a shithouse media, and then forced them into a humiliating and unnecessary grovelling apology to our most hated rival who orchestrated the whole fucking thing, all to protect their corporate image. Now, to cap it all off, they sack a club legend and proven winner …

I couldn’t find the thread on him so feel free to merge. What’s peoples thoughts on him? There’s quite a few who were right pissed off when he come off yesterday but I was wanting him off. Been arguing with a mate today who said he was by far our best Mid, have to disagree, is it because he had a couple of shots? Because the rest of his game is soooooo slow, like he plays in slow motion. He’s got good feet, but just plays it far too simple and safe, he was supposed to be the most advanced of the Midfielders yesterday but he just doesn’t give us enough, he’s slow as fuck, he never breaks into anything faster than a slow jog. Reminds me of Redknapp in that respect, just tro…

Work-rate. Incisiveness. Nous. I don't ask for much. This is how it's gonna be. Build from the ground up. How do we treat this one? We made a right pig's ear of the first leg, making any potential progress in the Europa League the most unlikeliest of scenarios. Defend like we have been, and it's done. Attack like we have been, and it's done. So tightening up and sharpening up are key if we are to stage another European miracle. We've been 3-0 down at half time to some Italians before. Atalanta have been on the fringes of a Champions League place in Serie A all season, but though they are well-organised and pose an attacking threat, we m…

It goes from bad to worse as a second home defeat in four days has put the Reds right up against it now in the title race. Arsenal's defeat softens the blow somewhat but City are the big winners this weekend and now sit top. We've seen how this movie ends. TLW Editor Dave Usher is joined by Paul Natton and John Gallagher to try to make sense of it all. View full article

Can we just go back in time eight days and have a redo of everything? What heady days they were. Top of the league with eight games left and looking forward to a European Final in Dublin. Then it all fucking collapsed around us. It’s not over and it would be overstating it to say we need a miracle, but we’ve really put ourselves in a shitty spot now. This is what happens when you keep conceding first though. Eventually it catches up with you. Our chickens finally came home to roost. Everyone has been saying it all season. You can’t keep giving teams a goal start and expect to win every time. Even teams like Palace, who hardly ever win games. They’re dangerous …

We're in a tight spot! I'm feeling like we should go all out to try and overcome this Atalanta deficit. It feels more achievable to me than the title, which feels absolutely gone now. It'd give us the opportunity to end the era on a high and complete the set for Jurgen. Thoughts?
