Wataru Endo Welcome to Liverpool

Has already played about as many games as he usually does in a season, not even taking the mid season intl tournament into account, or he fact that many games will have been at a higher pace/intensity than he is used to. He's tired. He'll get through it and probably be better conditioned for it next season.

The thing is with players like endo, the adrenaline and all that gets them through for a while. But they're not used to playing these back to back high profile games (almost cup finals), either mentally or physically. We don't have them to play every week, they're about plugging gaps, playing in the rotation. When they play all the time, you see why they're fringe players.

It seems endo wants to go to the Olympics with the Japanese team. How about this. Fuck right off. Do these cunts know where their wages come from?

Yep. And the same message should be imparted even more emphatically to Salah.

The Olympics is pretty much a once in a lifetime thing for them. As much as I’d prefer they didn’t, I can’t begrudge them the opportunity at all.

The Olympics should be for track and field, wrestling, boxing, swimming and a few others.

Football, tennis and especially fucking golf should be nowhere near it.

Stig, it's an U23s tournament. He's 31. I absolutely begrudge them. It's not the pinnacle of his sport. In fact the Asia cup is probably more important to them. And the SportsPesa Cup. It's an absolute nonsense and shouldn't even be part of the Olympics. If any of our senior players go, I would never play them again. The cunt is lucky he's playing for Liverpool, then wants to fuck off and play in a kids team?

Fair point well made.

What's the issue if he wants to play for his country for a week or 2? He'll be back with us for the start of the season anyway.

He should be here trying to learn the system Slot wants to play. He's already had one month out of our calendar this year. If he's serious about playing a part next season, he's a great opportunity, as he'll be in the first group back and has the maximum time to get slot's thoughts into his feet. And he's not a child. This is a children's tournament.

The olympic football competition is a joke.

Any player who wants to miss key weeks of pre-season at his club to go and play in that in what is already a disrupted pre-season and one where a new manager and coaching staff are coming in, so new ideas will need to be learnt and playing in the warm up games will be important to help hit the ground running when season starts - has their priorities wrong IMO.

Whatever Endo does or doesn't do in the summer makes no difference. Skipping the Olympics won't turn him into a top player.

I’d rather have an average squad player than a knackered average squad player who has missed learning the new manager’s system in preseason.

He’ll be fine, he’s an experienced player. Dude had no time to learn Klopp’s system seeing as he didn’t have a pre season with us and got stuck in pretty sharpish after a few cameos. Plus is Slot’s system really all that different to Klopp’s? It’s his choice if he wants to represent his country, we should respect that.

Players like Dani Alves, Diego Carlos, Asencio, Merino, Ochoa, Kruse, Arnold all represented their countries at the last Olympics, so just how much of a children’s competition is it when most of the players are 23-24 and each nation has 2-3 25+ year olds?

Endo was shite in most of the games he played early last year. He was even getting subbed at half time in Europa League games and it wasn't to save his legs as he was barely playing. Honestly, he needs to fucking grow up. He's got a job today, not fucking off playing games with young boys.

Endo is the most overrated player we have had in the Klopp era. Pierre Hojbjerg or Idrissa Gueye could have come in and reached similar levels. As a squad player he's fine, as a regular starter or someone that wants to go play in the Olympics, fuck that shit.
