I wonder if he was always in line to be signed, but as a back up to an established DM. And now that original idea has fallen through, he's been bumped up a place in the pecking order. 

 

If there's a positive, it's that it may well fast-track Stef's development with more game time, without burning him out by overdoing it.

Was running everywhere when he came on initially, then settled down a bit, (think Virg had a word), just did the simple things well, got a couple of decent challenges in, caught the once, but it could’ve been given a foul as a couple of similar were to Bournemouth.
