Back's fucked again,

Thought it was mental him coming back trying to swing the way he did 10 years ago after back surgery. He gets all his power with the back and shoulder turn and the explosive release through impact. He uses his spine like a torsion spring. Just cant do that at nearly 40 and expect not to do yourself damage, The only way he is going to get competitive is to completely remodel his swing for the long game, He needs a much ore hands and arms swing and reduce the back twisting. He'll lose the distance but he has a tremendous short game and whilst hell never be the force he once was he would still be competitive on some courses. Nicklaus's record will stay intact of that I have no doubt

Possibly out of Ryder Cup too.

Tom Watson will be secretly delighted having the decision taken out of his hands. Woods has always been a massive distraction with  the media circus following him around . In a team event it's disruptive and they will be better without him even if he was playing well .

I reckon Watson was going to leave him out anyway.

He's no where near the qualify points necessary and I reckon Watson has the class to recognise what a disruptive bell he actually is.

Rory and Sergio are the two form players, but as Sergio has a long history of bottling it, I've stuck £20 on Rory to win, no point in looking at each way when his odds are 9/2. I watched him win the WGC Bridgestone Invitational last weekend and he was driving the ball miles on to the middle of the fairway and his putting game also looked very impressive. Since he kicked that tennis bird into touch his form has got better and better, he's won the BMW European PGA at Wentworth, won The Open and won on the US tour last week, he's deffo the player to beat.
