Fantastic performance from Ireland, but a bit of a disappointment for fans with no affiliation hoping for a thriller.

I understand that head injuries need to be at the forefront of thought, but starting to get fed up of looking forward to special match-ups and then them being ruined by an early sending off. Happening far too frequently.

Blame the players, not the laws.

Certainly some of them, that 2nd yellow tonight was particularly stupid, but there are circumstances in most games where it is very difficult to avoid head contact with an opponent twisting , turning and ducking to avoid you tackling him correctly, or bouncing off a previous tackle. There can also be a height differential of a foot or so between the parties, and like VAR the slowing down of the incidents by the tv can also makes incidents look worse.

6 Nations after the world cup is always a bit 'whats the point' as teams generally work on a 4 year cycle and this is the start of it.  Ireland were good as you would expect from them given their performances over the last few years.  France were rubbish though and lacked any intensity.

Yet another red card and the steralisation of the sport continues, its nearly becoming as soft as football.

Are you trying to force me to do a “your boys took a hell of a beating’ in the rugby as well?

Not at all, Ireland are excellent, and I'd have loved to have seen them win the world cup. They've just been a little mentally weak at times, so for me if France had levelled I think Ireland would have folded.

Turns out France didn't level, and Ireland won comfortably.

This England - Wales game is embarrassingly bad.

Poor game but really poorly officiated as well. Sport really really needs to reduce the influence of technology as its ruining the game. The 'head' laws are a fucking joke and utterly incosistent.  Players know the risks when they play the game. Punish the deliberate reckless tackles but get the fuck with decisions like Englands first yellow card.  Absolute joke.

England are tough to watch.  Borthwick is an utterly uninspiring coach with no idea how to use the talent at his disposal.  They aren't gonig to be as good as Ireland, France, SA & NZ over night but despite what they say about playing a more expansive game there's nothing on the pitch to back up their talk.  2nd half today they just reverted to type.

Had this discussion with Lifey a few days back.

How can Chessum know that the Welsh lad is going to be bumped towards him and duck down so his head is about 4 foot off the ground. If you want it to be touch rugby then let's be honest about it.

The rules are also extremely biased against  the tackler. There was an incident also with Chessum going into a tackle when the Welsh player led with his forearm and Chessum ended up with a HIA . Not even looked at.

It has gone way over the top imo and its ruining the game.  I'm all for player safety but with the speed and physicality of the game there needs to be a lot more leeway than there currently is.

Played our easiest 2 games and struggled in both.

England will never achieve anything under Borthwick.
