I don't ask for much.

We go into this game in our worst run of form in well over 2 years, and look a world away from the literal world beaters who played in this fixture last season. We have a bit of time before this game, and that time has to be used to include at least one of Kabak or Davies in the starting XI. We'll have to stick with one of Hendo or Fab at the back as picking one of the new boys alongside one of the back-ups (Nat or Rhys) isn't going to be all that helpful. In light of that, I'd be inclined to move Fab back into his usual No6 role and keep Hendo in defence, and have two box-to-box midfielders alongside Fab. It's still not the ideal scenario but it's probably the best we can muster in our current situation. If the pressure of being league champions was a weight around the players' necks that they've not managed to overcome because of the numerous things that have gone against us this year, then the fact that we have effectively relinquished the title could lighten the load and see the team look more like their usual selves consistently (rather than just in our last 2 away games). Something - anything! - needs to click and stay clicking.

As I mentioned above, we destroyed Leicester on their own patch on Boxing Day in 2019. We'd already won all but one of our league games and yet Leicester's own fine form had many considering them to be title challengers and our own top place was under threat. We'd just claimed our maiden Club World Cup after beating Flamengo in Qatar. Many in the media believed we would slip up against the Foxes. What a crock of shit! Two goals from Bobby, a penalty from Milly and a pace goal from Trent showcased the gulf in class between the teams. We extended our lead at the top to 13 points with a masterclass of a performance, and belief was coursing through the veins of everyone at the club (even if some of our fans continued to shit themselves).

The last time we played at Leicester's old stadium (Filbert Street) in October 2001 also saw a gulf in class between the teams. Phil Thompson was keeping the manager's seat warm with Ged convalescing in hospital after his serious heart scare. The Foxes had recently installed footballing dinosaur Dave Bassett as the new manager in place of Peter Taylor and had Ade Akinbiyi firing blanks up front. They would go on to be relegated from the top flight at the end of that season. We won 4-1 thanks to a hat-trick from Robbie and a header from Big Sami. This turned out to be Robbie's last game for the club (of his first spell) as he was sold to Leeds soon afterwards. I remember not wanted him to leave but could understand why he felt he needed to.

In the charts, Kylie spent a month at the top with 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'. I've never been a fan of hers but that is a belter of a pop song. She was huge in the UK in the late 80s and early 90s but seemed to have disappeared. Then she returned at the turn of the century, donned some spangly gold hotpants, and if anything became even more successful.

We've had a bit of a downturn ever since our manager donned some hotpants of his own, with some dreadful luck and some appalling performances and results. We need to get that out of our head and get back to doing what made the team lay down such a marker at Leicester on Boxing Day 2019.

Alisson

Salah Firmino Mane.

That's what I'd pick too although I might swap Fab and Hendo round. Starting two new CBs in the middle of a crisis when the keeper has just had a mental breakdown and Vardy is licking his lips doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

We knew Stig was spent for months, and instead of fixing the problem straight away, we wait until it's too late and spend the bare minimum 2-quid getting in someone like Anubis.

TLW out.

I'd done enough to earn the chance to turn it around. I gave it my best. Don't kick a man when he's down, go and bow at my 12ft Bronze statue outside Wok-On

Haven't got a clue what i'd do in terms of an eleven but i'd be looking to get the new CB's in to get Hendo and Fabinho into midfield. Would play Curtis alongside them as he was good yesterday and didn't deserve to come off.

Fuck knows about the front 3, at least Mo is scoring, we just don't have any other options do we?

He just needs taking out of the firing line temporarily for his own good. Class is permanent.

Hoping for the win but I think this is going to be a nerve shredding ride again.

Nerves have gone now for me....last bit was blown out v Brighton.

The nervous energy is all about being in a fight for a trophy, knowing one wrong foot might mean you are fucked, or that big big win that turns the tide your way, that 3 pts you steal late whilst your rival drops 2.....or that putting/keeping the pressure on ahead of them playing...etc etc....like we had over last couple of seasons, all building to a climax for the big prize.

There is absolutely no nerves/nervous energy at all now for me as we are not playing for anything worthwhile.......top 4 i hear you say, yeah (as shite as it is) but it just isn't the same is it.

Bragging rights in the derby aside (maybe the european cup if it does not descend into total farce) this season is finished as far as being nerve shredding goes for me.
