Even if there's no "right way" for a western country with a large population, the UK certainly won't be the least worst, in fact from what we've seen, there is a good chance right now they will be the worst worst. That's why people are critical.

You can prime anything by saying "wait in a year we don't know yet". Yeah, we don't know, but what we do know is the UK are currently doing as bad as anybody else.

With the greatest respect ( and you know what that means) we haven’t a fucking clue about any of this.  The people you are criticising are world experts who’ve dealt with Ebola, AIDS, SARS etc.

again, they may have fucked up, but it’s very very early.

In the beginning, your country treated this as if it was the flu. There are multiple sources that have come out and said this. I can't differentiate RNA from T&A, but even with the little expertise I have, I can tell they probably shouldn't have done that. Sorry for pointing that out.

It's not fuvking early at all.  The government have bollocksd it.

. Seems Peston is hinting down the bottom of this thread the reason the government has fucked up so badly is down to trying to save a few quid

USA! USA! USA!

The weird bit is the cognitive dissonance.  China released this horrid disease that’s going to kill us all. But we aren’t willing to do the things that will protect us from this horrid disease because FREEDOM!

But why? All the coverage is talking about 2nd spikes, 3rd spikes and when a vaccine is going to be available. How can you call it now?

It’s entirely possible the uk has taken every wrong decision possible.  That everyone involved should be discredited and never work again.  But it’s just too early to say.

Their failings are catalogued for all to see; it started late, it started badly, and then it got worse.  Thousands of people have died now, and more mistakes will cause thousands more lives to be lost.

It's not a case of kicking the can down the road for 12 months and then having a wash-up, we cannot afford another bad week of decision-making, let alone 12 months of it.  Economically, as well as the direct human cost in lives, and health workers, the counter keeps turning every day, a badly thought-through week can claim 6-7,000 lives in the UK at this point.

At the moment we don’t know if you gain immunity from having caught it.  So you could catch it twice. or more.

Would that impact policy?

Hospital deaths that tested positive.   The real figure is much higher as we know the cunt government have doctored the figures by letting people die at home in care homes and not bothering to test many in hospirals.

Look, if we can’t have the manager we are going to have to hang up and get someone else to get her.
