Saw the Courteeners live and they were fucking shit.

Lets say he is talking from about 2005 when Razorlight, Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys came through. Who are these other numerous great bands since? Tame Impala and The Temples are both ace but he has mentioned them before positively. There really aren't that many at all.

There are fucking loads of them. The Savages album was fucking brilliant, Young Fathers are great and on and on...

If you haven't found things that you like over the last ten years then the problem is that you're not looking hard enough.

You like Royal Blood.

Never bought their album but yeah, they were pretty good live.

I'd guess the wider the person's tastes the less likely they are to believe there has been nothing decent made in a whole decade.

You like Be Here Now. The delivering of killer one liners about taste is less cutting once that's highlighted.

Now go and put your Beady Eye album on you barrel of smelly musical smeg.

Doves are probably the most under-appreciated UK band in my lifetime.

Really enjoyed the former-Sub Sub when seeing them live a few times.  Superb.

Always remember the lead singer trying desperately to get the crowd going at Glastonbury in either 2004 or 2005 though; didn't work at all and I was willing him to just play more excellent songs as he was dying on his arse up there every time he spoke between them.

Class act though.

There's a lot of it about.

In about 50 years from now, decent bands (of any vintage) will be on the equivalent of Radio 3 with some horn rimmed spectacled boffin spinning the tunes.

"Niche" isn't even close.

Not sure about that mate, isn't 6 Music going strong?

Went to see Ignite last night. I've only got one of their albums, Darker Days, but it's pretty damn good.

However, although they played really well last night, they were as boring as fuck. Just seemed to go through the motions, more content with getting their shit bang on than actually having some fun and enjoying the gig. Pity.

I fucking love Otis Redding.

I don't listen to him very often because they played These arms of mine at my mate's funeral years ago and I got rid of my cds but I just watched a programme I'd recorded on BBC4 a few weeks back and fuck me, him and the MGs were like a force of nature.
