I think he'll go on to be a great player if he joins a club were he'll play week in week out, but he'll ruin his career if he joins Chelsea, because the moment he isn't scoring 20+ per season, they'll set their sights on the next big thing.

 

He'd be great for us or Spurs mind, he's worth about 15 million currently, if were planning on selling Suarez, i'd definitely bid 20 million for him without a shadow of a doubt. He tore us to shreds single handedly at Anfield.

Agree with that, ever since we were first linked ive been hoping we dont end up signing him at any point, don't think hes all that to be honest and as you say hes not the type of player we need, especially for the money being banded around, stay well away, fed up of us signing players off the back of one decent season.

Don't get the Chelsea interest at all with them having Lukaku, if they do end up signing him then Lukaku is surely up for grabs?

Yeah it's bizarre, it seems Benteke is hankering for a move to Spurs though, which is the sensible destination for him. Chelsea just like stock piling talent.

I think he's a good player, I'd have him, but not at the expense of losing Suarez. It would feel like a step down as he's still somewhat unproven in the longterm, he could be another Kanu or something. Signing him wouldn't excite me after one season in the PL.

 

Seems like he only wants to go to Tottenham though. Good luck to him, he'll score goals for them, but he's going to be under a hell of a lot more pressure and Spurs are a fickle bunch. I'll put money on him starting well, getting droppeds for Defoe or Adebayor for a few months are performances drop and then he'll regain his place as the season progresses. Always seems to happen with players Spurs buy. They don't have enough players that call play 38 games a season at a good level. They're a decent team with a few quality players, this is why they don't make top 4 (amongst other things obviously) compare that to the teams above them who have stronger squads and better players. Although Paulinho was a top buy I'll give them that.

He's going to Spurs this lad. Totally the wrong type of player for us and I'm not even sure he's the right type of player for Spurs really. I'm sure he'll do well enough there but we won't be replacing Suarez with a player like Benteke.

That's a negative view. If he is good enough to enhance Spurs' CL challenge why not ours?

 

He is a better player than Sturridge and with luis heading foir the exit door goals will be hard to find.

More like a clone between Darren Bent and Emile (ca 2000)... I think he's a very good player, but agree with those who don't necessarily see him fitting our way of playing. 25 million seems a bit steep, but I reckon Spurs could part with that and get decent value for their money (i.e. goals and a better chance of 4th) as he's much better than Defoe (and Adebayor when he's not on song - which is 8 out of 0 games).

I can see why Benteke want's Spurs as there'll be a first team spot for him with Adebayor on his way out. But Chelsea will pay the highest price and then stick him out on loan because they can. Or, they'll have Lukaku and Benteke fight it out and ship Torres off to PSG for a big fee.
