The annoying thing is Mike Dean can have an objectively good game where he gets almost every big decision right and he navigates a difficult situation really well where you have a Newcastle player feigning injury, which allows us to score, and you'll still hear pundits, who are obvious biased cunts, talk about some nothing controversy.

it's astonishing how all the focus yesterday was on vvd being out, without any reference to fab being missing. it's almost like their prep time and thought going into these games is about the same as i have when i stick a match on in the background of 2 teams i have no interest in. what a fucking great job they have.

i have no journalstic or presenting background , but if I knew a pundit gig was coming up , I would do some background on the teams , check fan websites for current themes and look at recent Athletic / broadsheet articles etc.to have some pithy insight at my fingertips. Some of them don't appear to be even aware of who is playing.

As far as I can tell with most of them their entire knowledge of a player is based on a highlights or match of the day clips.

 

I think it was McManaman in the derby talking about how much of a goal scoring threat Andros Townsend is, he's averaged about 1 in 10 for his entire career yet they are spouting "he's got that in his locker", no he fucking doesn't. Same with bigging up players like Saint Maximum or Zaha because they can run fast as if that makes up for them being average at best with every other aspect of their game.
