Summer Transfer Thread 2012

I think we are getting a much better player for £15 million in Joe Allen than City are getting in Rodwell. Somehow Rodwell has managed to carry forward a reputation as a top young player for the last few years despite doing pretty much nothing since breaking into their first team. This strikes me as an FFP type signing from City, but it's not a very good one. The bluenoses will surely be made up with this deal.

Rodwell to Shitty. Strange one that.

No doubt the bitters will get way over the odds again for over-rated shite.

Yeah. I bet all parties regret that transfer. Everton get 28m, United and Rooney get 180 goals, four titles, a European Cup, several domestic cups and a host of individual and team honours.

Durrrrrrrr

Who's this "Macca" everyone talks about on twitter, apparently he has a good track record, he says:

Sahin is close to being done

We will go back in for Walcott

Agger is likely to leave as City will come back with improved bid that could include Johnson

A thought on Sahin, would we not be top heavy with midfielders if he joins? Lucas, Allen, Gerrard, Henderson and Shelvey are here, plus Adam and Spearing also around?

Fuck it, I'm choosing to believe we're going to sign Sahin and Walcott. And Dempsey as back-up.

Until any of you cunts prove otherwise, that's what's happening.

Not that massive as he's only played in 45% of the games we've played during his time with us.

Good player without a doubt but just not available enough to be truly influential on us.

It will be that massoive when Aguero and Tevez are ripping shite out of Coates or Carragher and Agger is in the City defence.

Swansea blocked Reds request to play Allen today.

Seems they forgot in a hurry that LFC cancelled an outstanding payment for transfers when they were on the verge of bankruptcy a few years back (in the 80's I think it was).

Liverpool's wish to play Joe Allen in friendly against Bayer Leverkusen is blocked by Swansea City - Telegraph

Allen signed for his new club after a 5pm deadline on Friday. He needed to be registered with the Premier League before then so he could face Bayer Leverkusen at Anfield yesterday.

Despite being signed outside Premier League office hours, Allen would still have been free to play had the selling club given Liverpool their permission.

Still upset by Allen’s departure, Swansea City refused a request by the Merseyside club and the Wales international was forced to watch from the stands.

Liverpool won, with Andy Carroll among the goalscorers, and Allen will now join the Wales squad to face Bosnia in midweek.

His debut for his new club is now likely to be the first Premier League game of the season against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns next Saturday.

Skirtle and Agger best combination-dont sell your best players thats the first rule of building a successful team.

But Agger was only available for 45% of the games we've had while he's been with us. Don't you think it might go through the managers mind that if he can Get £25 mill for that sort of playing record he could significantly improve the team?

Do you want to turn down £25 Mill and keep Agger knowing the likelyhood is that we will only get a 50% availability from him?

Don't get me wrong, if we could guarantee 100% playing attendance for Agger there's no way we should even think of getting rid - however, he's 28 this year and there's no reason to expect or even think that his injury record will improve is there?
