I think one of the thing that riles me is the lie that 'they died for our freedom'.No they didn't.We were never in danger of getting Invaded.The great powers sacrificed an entire generation of young men over a power struggle, and its justified in this country by a myth.I have nothing but compassion for those poor sods,from every country.who fought in that hell scape (they certainly had more courage than me)

However I'll never understand why there wasn't more anger at the government and military who did nothing to stop 4 years of mechanised slaughter, for absolutely nothing.

In Europe,empires fell,there were revolutions and monarchies deposed.Here we gave everyone a poppy to wear.

Thats not to say we should never forget,but ask why it was such a waste of life
