That is a bloody mental development.

God knows what the fuck it means, and why they wouldn't have done it before if removing Purslow/Ayre was the only things they needed to push their vote through.

Not to mention how it's gotten onto the Offal if there's an internal power struggle.

Never thought I'd see such days.

This is quite clearly what this is and it looks like the yanks are losing.

Again this is something that would not normally be put in the public domain, this is a message to the fans and the financial world....

here we go onto the finishing stages of an almighty roller coaster..

So City are in debt? I thought they had a rich owner.

He's rich but he would be expecting a return as they made a loss this financial year so if the club is not operating at a profit which not many do as you think then how will he get his money back that he's put into the club.

Even the offal distancing 'the club' from Hicks and Gillet......legal review sounds like a slow process. Can anyone shed any light on what this will entail??

Very early to tell. We need a real expert to know whether it will affect the deadline too.

My guess is H&G may be hoping to get their cunts in so they can get a dodgy refinancing through before the deadline. If that's the case then it's our duty to delay proceedings in any way until after the 15th.

Oh shit, the producer of Goal is making a youtube film with Peter Price and other local faves, we'd better have this elaborate hoax involving the Boston Redsox, Sky and the BBC in our pocket just in case it turns out to be really good?

Is not more likely that the day before the 6th is the key coincidence here?

a bit of sense at last

Liverpool Football Club tonight issued the following press statement:

The Board of Directors have received two excellent financial offers to buy the Club that would repay all its long-term debt. A Board meeting was called today to review these bids and approve a sale. Shortly prior to the meeting, the owners - Tom Hicks and George Gillett - sought to remove Managing Director Christian Purslow and Commercial Director Ian Ayre from the Board, seeking to replace them with Mack Hicks and Lori Kay McCutcheon.

This matter is now subject to legal review and a further announcement will be made in due course.

Meanwhile Martin Broughton, Christian Purslow and Ian Ayre continue to explore every possible route to achieving a sale of the Club at the earliest opportunity
