1. Glen Johnson - I'm struggling to think of a better home debut from a Liverpool player. This lad could be a revelation for us.

2. Steven Gerrard - world class and if this season goes to plan, he'll be acknowledged as such when the FIFA award is handed out.

3. Yossi Benayoun - a very clever, very skilful and very, very hard-working performance from a player who looks like he's fighting to become undisputed first choice for us.

honourable mentions to Masch, Lucas and Ayala who i thought grew during the game and coped manfully.

1. Johnson - Excellent Anfield debut. The lad has everything. Strength, skill, determination and good brain. How can a full-back make the difference in the matches we drew last season? i think last night gave us a clue.

2. Gerrard - Took a little while to get going, but then showed what a player he is. truly superb. The control for the Kuyt goal was just breathtaking. i wouldn't swap him for a single other player in the world.

3. Yossi - Should be guaranteed first choice for that left spot. Showed on saturday the difference between him and Babel. Swiftly becoming one of my favourite players.

 

Great team performance. As a few have remarked on various threads "it's only Stoke" (yes, I am looking at you weeksie), but this is the same "only Stoke" that we struggled to break down last season.

 

We now have 3 times as many points from equivalent fixtures than last season. By my reckoning we should be on for a finishing total of more than 240 points. Woot!
