I hardly ever post anymore since my daughter died, I don't know if it's that the reason I don't post much anymore but I'm more comfortable lurking I suppose. When she died 4 years ago, I was destroyed and part of me still is. I'll never get over it. There's things that I have to deal with over the last few years, that I think have stopped me grieving for her in a way that I'd like to. In many ways I've become numb to so much. I seem to be on autopilot most of the time and out of the blue, I'm floored and can barely pick my head up off the floor. For most of the time I function like everyone else, I go to work and do what other people do, but I don't get anywhere near the enjoyment out of life that I used to. And I accept that as I know why. My wife and I set up a charity, Love, Jasmine, 2 years ago in her memory and I know many of you sponsored Dougie Doins on his sponsored bike ride last year when he raised money for us - thank you!. We support other families who have gone through/going through what we are and the way people deal with it is as unique as the child they've lost. There's no right or wrong way to deal with grief. You have to find your own way. For some counselling works, for others it doesn't. Some prefer the company of others who have experienced something similar and peer support can really help with isolation. One of things that we've tried to do with the charity is give families different choices. We don't just say here's counselling and go to the GP and get medication. We provide self-care strategies such Yoga, meditation and complimentary therapies and these are available to kids and adults alike. There's counselling for those that want to try that as well as support groups and we also provide transport for families to get them to appointments, if they can't get themselves to us. Last year, we asked families what would help and so many came back to us and said respite breaks, so we bought a caravan and we now send families for respite breaks as well. I didn't mean this to sound like an advert for the charity, I guess I'm just trying to say grief is different for everyone. I see it every day in my own life at home and with the people that we work with each day.

Tottenham at Anfield, February 4th 2018

Different angles of the Van Dijk kick on Lamela give different perspectives and to be honest, I'm not convinced either way about how much contact there was. But, Lamela doesn't make any attempt to go for the ball and actually jumps in between Van Dijk and the ball. That's not a foul, whether he kicks him or not. Lamela won the penalty.

    One Of Our Own (Robslappa)

I just wanted to thank everyone that's donated to Mick's page and also to thank Mick for raising money on our behalf. It's some bike ride he's taking on. I also wanted to let everyone know what we do as a charity and why we set it up. We got our registered status from the Charity Commission 11 months ago and then set about raising some money so we could start helping families. What we realised when we lost Jasmine is that access to support in many instances is limited, particularly for children. You often have to wait 6 months or so before seeing a counsellor and that support groups for parents, grandparents and siblings weren't there at all. Since the turn of the year, we've got two parents support groups meeting once a month, one for parents who have lost a child between the ages of 6 weeks and 16 years, and the other for those who have lost an adult child. We also run two sibling groups for children aged between 4 and 11 years and we have 20 kids on these groups. We also provide complimentary therapies for families as well as acting as a signposting service to other organisations. We're also now providing practical help to families. We've recently paid for some school uniforms and paid for a nursery place/holiday club place so that a Mum can have some respite as she's on her own dealing with the loss of a child as well as trying to bring up her other children. The fundraising that Mick and others have done for us goes a long way, so thank you, we really appreciate it

"Welcome to the World of Tomorrow!"

i lost my daughter 2 years ago and there's nothing that I wouldn't give to have her back, even if it was just for a minute. But I know that will never happen and I'm sure her parents know that as well. This is more about respecting her wishes and giving her the death of her choosing and as much as I'd have the same concerns as her Father, I'd have reluctantly respected her wishes. We buried our daughter and i'd find it extremely difficult if I couldn't visit her grave, I need to be able to go, so it must be incredibly difficult for her parents knowing their daughter's body is far away.

What I've found interesting is that there's very few of them that are cautiously optimistic. They nearly all seem to think Moshiri is going to give them a brand new stadium, Mourihno and a brand new team. They're fucking mental, it's like Gillet and Hicks, Randy Lerner, the Venky's and all of Portsmouth's owners never happened. He doesn't even own half the club. And, unless I've missed it, the only noise about a new ground has been coming from Fat Joe and not the club themselves.

    Fixture changes

Liverpool have announced changes to three of their fixtures in December for live TV coverage. The home clash with Manchester United has been put back 24 hours to Sunday December 16 (1.30pm) and the away trip to Manchester City will now take place on Sunday December 30 (4pm). Both games will be televised live by SKY TV. Because of the change to the Manchester City game, our scheduled fixture with Wigan on New Year's Day has now been put back to Wednesday January 2, 2008 (8pm). Setanta Sports have also selected a Liverpool game for live coverage during the month and will be showing our away game at Reading on December 8 (5.15pm). http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N157313071012-1700.htm Well I hope nobody's booked travel for these games. Also, I can't understand why we've agreed for the Reading game to be put back when we play away in Marseille 3 days later. Doesn't make sense. The plus side to that is that there's no early kick off on New Year's Day this year, so no getting out of bed at daft O'Clock in the morning.
