    Sterling / Gomez - 'clash'

He's been pretty shite against us, last match an exception but even then he didn't score. He's clearly upset by the boo's and the negativity towards him. Players are different, some might play better if they're abused by other teams fans. For others the effect is the opposite, as you could argue is the case with Sterling. Put it to the extremes our booing or not could decide the league title next season. In that context booing is elementary, no matter how much we don't like it.

    Sterling / Gomez - 'clash'

Summary as I see it: This incident has become a storm in a teacup. Sterling lost it and made a mistake. He’s taken full responsibility for his stupid action. If not fair play to him at least apology accepted Should we boo Sterling next time? Mixed emotions really. I don’t like booing and think we should rise above booing other team’s players. On the other hand the booing obviously affects his game, so it’s gonna be kind of hard not to. England fans booing Gomez? Anyone surprised? Really?

Man City - the new bitters?

It’s pathetic. They even complain about the late handball from Trent. 999 out of 1000 ref’s agree that is not a pen, yet they whine. One good thing though. We’ve really found a passage into their heads. First Razana, now this. Could we hope for a total break-down? Betting people should take notice. A 10’er on Chelsea next PL match?

    Sterling / Gomez - 'clash'

Absolutely. Next time the boy is one on one with Allison we can't have him loose his head and blast the ball over the crossbar, can we? No booing from this day on it is then.

    Sterling / Gomez - 'clash'

We can't have pictures of our players involved in a cat fight can we? Well done to Joe for keeping his calm and not burst out in laughter.

    Sterling / Gomez - 'clash'

Sure it's not "Razana"? When someone whines like a diva, runs like birdie and fights like a bitch, then maybe, just maybe, it's not a male?

    Fixture Pile up

One easy way to solve it in the future. Let the league cup be a competition between teams not qualified for Europe and play the games on the same dates. Winner gets a place in the Europa league next season. The fixture dates for 3rd and 4th rounds are free to play PL matches, making it possible to have that 14 days winter break Klopp wants so much. This will be better for the league cup as the second best teams would have a proper chance of winning it, thus playing stronger teams. It would probably increase the status of the FA cup as well as the top teams would only participate in one domestic cup tournament. They could also continue playing double semi's if they want to.

    Sterling / Gomez - 'clash'

Agree 100%. Only thing interesting here is the expected incompetence from FA suspending Raheem. That and the fact it shows we're in the heads of the Cithe players. They really don't like us do they? Good!

    VAR - The Verdict

Sports are different. In NHL hockey a team can challenge a ref's decision. If you're right the decision is changed and you carry on. However, if you challenge a decision and the decision stands, your team gets a 2 min suspension. So you have to be really careful if you want to challenge. Can't do that in football, at least not without completely changing the riules of the game. I'm not sure if challenging could work in football.
  10. Evra/Fergie won that battle a long time ago when we decided to bow our heads and accept defeat without fight. If you want to fight a cunt you can’t be a pussy. Nothing we can do about that now.

Jamie apologises to evra for Suarez t shirt protest.

It's not "could", it's "would" Just a tiny bit from the panel’s report: Anderson, Nani, Valencia and Hernandez all gave evidence of what Evra had told them in the dressing room after the game. None of them remembered exactly what Evra had said to them. Suarez didn’t demand them to appear in front of the panel for cross examination (why should he, he was not in the ManU dressing room anyway and they were not witnesses to the incident). As a result the panel says: “Mr Suárez did not require any of these four players to attend the hearing for cross-examination and so Mr Suárez accepted their evidence in full. We proceeded, therefore, on the basis that the evidence contained in those witness statements is true and sets out what did, in fact, happen immediately after the game.” Later in the report the panel goes on to accept those statements as proof of what actually happened. You don’t have to be a lawyer to see that this is outrageous behavior from the panel. Dirk Kuyt, on the other hand, gave as evidence that he had heard Evra say to the ref (when being booked): ”You only book me because I’m black!”. From the report: “Mr. Kuyt was "absolutely certain" that he heard Mr Evra say that the referee was only booking him because he was black”. The ref, Mariner, couldn’t confirm hearing that, so the panel says: “In light of this we reject Mr Kuyt's evidence that Mr Evra said that the referee was only booking him because he was black, however certain Mr Kuyt was that he heard it”. So real evidence dismissed, second hand information of what Evra allegedly told them after the match, accepted as proof of what actually happened. A lawyer’s dream this, if appealed. Patrice Evra may be the cunt in this story, but John Henry is the pussy.

Jamie apologises to evra for Suarez t shirt protest.

I've just reread the extracts of the FA report. It's even worse than I remembered. Ripping it apart in a court room would be the easiest task ever. It would've ridiculed those responsible for it.

Thew problem is we did nothing with the cangaroo court decision, so in action we accepted it as the truth. Now the boomerang is coming back to us.

Jamie apologises to evra for Suarez t shirt protest.

Fact is Rio F has come out saying Carra's apology is too little too late. His words: “Yet, eight years on and still the apology hasn’t come from Liverpool in that sense.” To me that sounds like he wants more than Carra's apololgy. And Kenny was the man in charge. So what do you mean "anything but that!"?

Jamie apologises to evra for Suarez t shirt protest.

Carra says: “I am not lying and saying I wasn’t part of it because as the club we got it wrong, and I was vice-captain. I am not sure who was actually behind it. I don’t think it had anything to do with the manager Kenny." Everybody, Liverpool fans, neutrals, manc fans. We all know the answer to that. Kenny Dalglish is indeed responsible. He was manager at the time. It doesn’t matter if it was his idea or not. It wouldn’t have happened if Kenny hadn’t OK’d it. So feel free to tarnish Kenny Dalglish as disgraceful and disrespectful. Because if the T-shirt stunt was disgraceful, it’s his responsibility. Rio Ferdinand is on it. More will come. Will we see Kenny forced to issue an apology? Thanks Carra, splendid. We all love you.

Instead of guessing (the line in bold) why not refer to facts? As you can see, if you bother, Evra actually started the bickering. This is an extract of the report from FA reported by the Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2012/jan/01/fa-report-luis-suarez-patrice-evra

This thread’s become a farce. However, when uneducated people brand Luis Suarez a racist, I think it’s only fair he was given a chance to defend himself. Here’s the story in his own words: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/oct/26/luis-suarez-am-i-a-racist-no-absolutely-not-i-was-horrified

Surely you don’t mean Suarez and/or LFC should apologize for something he didn’t do, but was falsely accused and convicted for. Consequently I assume you believe Suarez was guilty, and the accusations and conviction was right. Well, I don’t. Evra lied about what happened and changed his story repeatedly, that’s well documented. Yet FA decided to punish Suarez with no other proof than the same liar’s testimony. It stinks! Had I believed Suarez was guilty I wouldn’t lift an eyebrow over this. Almost 200 posts in this thread makes me believe I’m not alone

I’ve got nothing bad to say about Kenny’s reaction. After all it was him who sanctioned the T shirt stunt in the first place, the same incident Carra’s now apologizing. Kenny was the only one at the club showing any dignity and rightfully expressed his support for Suarez. Our owners on the other hand, showed cowardice in the true meaning of the word.

You say that as if it was an established fact. Well, it's not, it's a matter of opinion. I don't see the T-shirt thing as an embarassement. On the contrary, I believe kenny got it right.

After they backed him? In what way did LFC back Suarez after the Evra incident? I mean apart from the Tshirt stunt you obviously think was wrong. As far as I'm concerned LFC turned it's back toi Suarez back then. Suarez later turned his back to the club.
  23. JustTosh

Jamie apologises to evra for Suarez t shirt protest.

It’s a sore memory. The way the club totally turned their back on their own (Suarez) hurt people who’s brought up to live by another moral standard. It hurts because we’re a part of the club, and despise we didn’t keep our head up high. Now Carra opens the wounds.

Thank you for putting my exact meaning into words. LFC handled the Suarez/Evra incident embarraisngly wrong. In fact the t-shirt stunt was the only thing the club did that was not embarrasingly wrong (thanks Kenny).

Agreed, one little incident like this doesn’t mean Jamie Carragher is an ”embarrassment”, “shithouse”, “cunt” nor “witless balloon”. However, bending over once again, just because the rat himself was sat in the studio, was a embarrassingly shithouse, cuntish witless balloon-ish thing to do.
