So what is the best result to hope for from the Chavs & Mancs?

Given that we weren't able to take full points against Stoke, a Chavs win would give them a buffer of a couple of points, as well as an even greater goal difference than us than what is already the case. This would, however, put the Mancs right in the shit with a single win from their first handful of games. It'd also be the first time in a long time they have lost 2 consecutive games in the league. Would it be a big concern for Chelsea to have even a 2-point buffer over everyone so early on?

A Manc win would get them to only a few points of Arsenal who would then be leading the Premiership race, plus the Mancs would have a game in hand on the other big teams. But it would keep us within only a point of the top of the league and it'd be neither Chelsea or Man U we'd be behind at that stage, so it wouldn't be a bad result either, though only time will tell that one. It'd break this fucking unbeaten streak the Chavs have at Stamford Bridge which the commentators love to tug themselves over each time they mention it.

Personally, I'd be happiest with a draw. At the end of the day, it's one point less being distributed to our two biggest rivals, we'd only be a point of top spot after having already played one of the other big four so early on and it'd keep a nice little points difference between us and the Mancs. They've had a slow start and need to start winning these types of games to make up ground, so the longer that doesn't happen, the better.

1-1 draw for mine.

Initially I was gong for The Manc win in order to keep both teams behind us. However, I then remembered that we're not going to finish above both of these teams and that Chelsea are by far the lesser evil as Champions, so it's a no-brainer: a Chelsea win.

Got to want a defeat for Utd. Partly because it is always a pleasure to see them take a beating, whoever is handing it out, and partly because they will only get better the longer the season goes on so it's good for them to lose as many points now as possible.

Chavs to win for me. It's inevitable the Chavs will have a 'blip'. Essien is a massive loss as he's easily their best player. Leaves just Mikkel holding who's bound to get injured/sent off at some stage. Also if Carvalho gets injured, which he seems to do at some point every year, Mongo will be exposed as not even the best centre half ta his club.

In summary, think you can bank on Chelsea dropping daft points somewhere later on, whereas the Mancs are less likely to.

1-0 chavs. Neville own goal. done.

I can't see Chelsea droping many points at all. Their team/formation is a lot more settled than Man United's which is a work in progress after the arrival of Berbatov. Chelsea have a huge squad, full of quality players who could slot in and make an impact.

Chelsea win, as the lesser of two evils.

Also- an every-man-for-himself, "Royal Rumble" style punch up, whereby Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole, Frank Lampard, John Terry, Anderson, Evra, Ballack are all injured and declared out for the rest of the season.

The result of which means that the FA get their overpaid chubby fingers out of their arses and hand the both clubs a hefty fine, and a deduction of twelve points each. Arsene Wenger, acting like a bully's mate standing behind the FA waving his fist, gets clobbered with a deduction, because he stuck his pointy French nose in where it didn't belong. That for me would consitute a very good Sunday afternoon.

Failing that, a Chelsea win to put United right out of it.

Draw. Title rivals collectively lose 4 points, rather than 3. Plus we stay 1 point off top and the shite stay in the bottom half.

Is correct. Nani scoring (for fant football - big mistake there), Rooney huffing, lots of reds (closely following by lots of rescinded cards of course)

Unless we are in the final few games of the season & the team the Mancs are playing are in direct competition with us for something (ie/ The title, Cl qualification, etc. ) then the best result is ALWAYS a Manc loss.

We don't have a snowball's chance in hell of finishing above the Chavs so its a Manc loss for me....

Definite chelski win. Personally as much as I HOPE we can win the league ourselves realistically speaking I can't see it. Failing that chelski are our best hope of stopping the mancs equalling our record so the bigger points distance they have over them the better. After this year ronaldo will be gone so they will be weaker next year.
