To be honest Im a bit pissed off. Weve dropped 5 shit points in the last two games. Lets be straight here, crap finishing and really sloppy defending have cost us going 2 points ahead of Utd and 13 behind chelsea with 2 in hand and a game at the bridge on Sunday.

Obviously you have to win those games but we could of put some real pressure on cfc. There's been alot of talk from the players about the title, even whispered on here a few times. I just feel that these two games could of well cost us a serious challenge and we'll slip back into

"Well were looking at a CL spot, its progress etc etc etc."

Which it all, just a bit miffed at the mistakes we've made in the last two that have cost us considering our recent form.

Were already seeing alot more consistancy againist the lesser teams but against the other top 3 were 1 in 9 out of 18.

Yep, it's mega frustrating at the moment. Sat there looking at the table last night thinking we should be back in the title race. Instead, despite the Manc's shit result i'm left heavily worried about capturing 2nd.

Over the next few weeks we've got Chelsea,Charlton and Wigan all away. 7 points would be excellent from that and it's essential we don't drop too many points over the following weeks because after them 3 it doesn't get much easier: Arsenal, United, Benfica.

Win those 6 games and i'll be well happy though :D. Seriously thouh, last night was a bigger kick in the bals than the United game because at Old Toilet we played them off the park at their place for the first time in manymany years and lost to a team wh are still one of the best in the league. Last night we lost to a fucking awful team who had 10 men because we we're fucking complacent. Look how we responded at 1-1 we could have scored 5 in the last 3 minutes yet for the previous 20 we'd created fuck all. Last night could have been a defining night for us because we'd have been right up the manc's arses and going into sunday knowing a win may JUST have given us a chance for a late title challange.

Pity.

We'll be alright.

Part of the problem this season has been that when Gerrard leaves the pitch the tempo of the play drops significantly, and that is something we need to address. It clearly can be addressed judging by our response to the equalizer last night.

The problem is the mentality touched on in 'the chelsea myth' thread - people have already handed the chavs the title, when they've dropped 6 points in the last 3 games - and maybe 3 more on sunday.. it's so frustrating to drop points in those games we should have won.

Yep I can agree with that. The pace of the game went through the roof when they scored, so Gerrard leaving the pitch isnt an issue its a mental issue of the players on the pitch. Also yep Cfc have drawn their last three games, their not that infalable but 99% of the people in the game have like you say given them the title. Nothing done until its done, last season reconfimred that.

Every team has its blip and we seem to be having ours, conceding goals late on and from balls coming in from outwide.

Other than that the two players that have come in dont look out of their depth which is a real positive since they've only played one game.

Ah we;; for Sunday I'll be pissed up on Jagermister sat in a tyroleon bar convincing the austrians that cfc are scum and utd are finished. And also that Gary nevil is a twat, but then again they probably know that already

Yeah but before this season started who'd have thought we'd be strong contenders for second and be the team chasing Chelsea. While the team still doesn't have the right people and while the team still isn't Benitez's team we'll continue to frustrate.

Just think how good we're going to be next season.

gutted alright, but it was more down to bad luck as well, an og from one of our best players ,you cant really point a finger at anyone for that

as for the chavs run, its not the best form, but with us and the manure dropping points at the exact same time, it really pisses me off, but lets not forget, the chavs are that far ahead as they beat the snot out of everyone at the start of the season, including us :no

Am a bit gutted, but find it hard to be too gutted as compared to the last few seasons we are in a much healthier position and we are clearly moving forward. We are a regular goal scorer away from winning the league.

thats the only thing we need, if we actually had hprseface and/or Rooney we would be top, without a doubt

looking at the overall premiership picture you cant be dissapointed with that, bit I feel really dissapointed down to the fact that once again we have blown a great chance to make up ground on chelsea and united. lately we always seem to get really close, have a great opportunity to catch someone or go ahead and then blow it!

Just like last season - except it was Everton then ;-)
