xG.

The stattos will be banging on about that after this game. Peter Drury kept referring to it in commentary, and even someone like me who ignores stats like xG had it in mind as we continued to waste chance after chance. A team creating this many chances at home should in theory be absolutely wiping the floor with their opponents.

We actually played well in this one or the most part. We were a bit sloppy at other times, mainly for their goals and also when we allow their players to turn and run at us. Mo, first penalty aside, was absolutely electric. Darwin, finishing aside, was absolutely electric. Lucho had his best display in quite a while. Curtis was the best midfielder on the pitch.

Darwin has to be the topic of conversation. Uncanny ability to just be offside by the tightest of margins. An even more uncanny ability to find the keeper with every effort on target. It's a mix of unfortunate and ridiculous but, as entertaining as he is, we need his input to result in goals, and ones that get to stand. Ruthless we aren't.

Can we ever get through a week without a fucking injury - it feels like every game there is someone we are hoping hasn't got a bad one.

It’s par for a Klopp side. Don’t forget, in Germany there was very little attrition apart from Munich.

The biggest issues we’ve had since he came here is injury and depth to ply the way we do where we exert every ounce of energy out of the players in intense competition.

Carragher can fuck off on tbe same boat as Neville with the penalty shit. He's a sky lap dog with more interest in filling his sky banter role that anything else these days

Why would Jota not want to just tap it in if that's all he had to do. He's knocked off balance, and can't get his shot away and is going to wide. If he stays on his feet he might not score and they're both saying why doesn't he go down

Watch the narrative change to 'there is contact, he's entitled/clever to go down' when it suits though.

It is just bollocks they talk all the time - better off swerving it.

An XG of 7.2? Go and fuck yourselves, you sad cunts. Can you score part goals now?

Carragher is meant to be the Liverpool fan on there but he's more against us than for. He represents nothing of which our fans believe, sold his soul to be Nevilles bitch. It's embarrassing.

Endo, Jones and Diaz were the stand outs for me tonight.  Don’t get me wrong, while Salah, Darwin and Dom had difficult first halves but came good in the second, the aforementioned trio were the engine room of the team tonight.

Endo has really stepped up since the Mac Callister injury. Hopefully we can see more of Mac Callister advanced at times now, just playing the 6 when we are playing shite teams and don't need so much protection.

The playing on the edge is deffo a part of it - the challenge with that is knowing it leads to a lot of injuries when having a small squad or carrying regular non contributors is very risky.

Hopefully we manage because it does feel like we have a real chance to win this league.

In hindsight that was an enjoyable watch, would have been six or seven if their goalie didn't have the game of his life.

Let's be honest though, Salah, Trent and Dom were poor in that first half.

Also, it was noticeable on the commentary that after Salah score the pen the little rat shut his whore mouth for the rest of the game. Delightful.

2pts clear of City really. A home game vs Brentford, that's a 3pt certainty

Stats are one of those things that are simultaneously great and stupid. There is too much variability in sport, which is part of why we love it if we're being honest with ourselves. They're great for scouting and if a club should look at a player, but they aren't the end all be all. Even now the NBC crew was looking at us on the top couldn't really pick holes in the way the side is performing. Yea we shold've scored more but we're top of the league and second only to City in terms of goals scored, and not a far second either.
