I watch those Air Safety Institute reports on youtube. Very interesting.

Yea, I find a wall of text a bit heavy going which is why I prefer the visual. Obviously a written report will contain greater detail but the aforementioned YT channels make it easier to understand, at least for me!

I love the written reports (RAIB ones too), they're kind of relevant to my job so get to read them in work.

Cool and even better if you get paid to read them! Do you read NTSB ones from the US or just UK ones?

I'm saving the NTSB ones for later in the year.

The maritime ones are good as well.

Proper rock and roll me.

  • 2 weeks later...

I was just looking at that Vulcan Bomber that reared off the runway or something but it reminded me of working on Formby beach and one of them flew over us on the sand dunes at low level what I thing to see and hear.

I think it came from that base that was by Blackpool, I can't think of its name but RAF Wharton springs to mind opposite Southport?

Think it's BaE Warton now, near Lytham St Annes I think? But it could also have come from Bae Salmesbury near Preston.

Could have been Woodford.

Couple of nice models.

First is a turbine powered Lockheed T 33. Seems somewhere between quarter and one fifth scale?

Second is a huge AirBus A 380 with 4 electric powered ducted fan units. This is totally self built including the under carriage and not a kit. Been following the build and to see it fly is pretty awesome.
