Factcheck

Claim: Jeremy Corbyn is promising to plant 2bn trees by 2040

Reality: The government must already adhere to the Committee for Climate Change target of 1.5bn trees by 2050. Jeremy Corbyn’s pledge is for more trees in 20 rather than 30 years. This means 100m trees must be planted a year to expand woodland and make up for losses. This is ambitious, but is not impossible and not out of synch with what experts say.

Our weekend away has been postponed and luckily I had the foresight to book a couple of tickets to the hustings tomorrow night, just in case. Demand totally outstripped supply which I’m hoping is a good thing and people are there to support our girl and give Hancock a rough time about the GP crisis in town. Looking forward to watching him flap in person.

That’s about the only thing there is to look forward to because this whole AS narrative has finally sucked the life out of my enthusiasm today. The game is rigged, it couldn’t be any more transparent. The Tories couldn’t give two shits about British jews, same as they don’t give two shits about anyone else in this country other than themselves. The only thing that makes Jeremy Corbyn ‘dangerous’ is his opinion on the Israel/Palestine conflict and the British establishment has gleefully played along with the Israel lobby purely so they can each continue to feather their own nests.

Why aren’t Labour attacking the Tories hard over this?

Because it’s of no relevance at all to this election maybe? Hundreds of pages of documents showing how the NHS might be fucked over were barely newsworthy. What’s in that tweet won’t grab the attention of the public whatsoever.

Just detail a mobile loudspeaker to follow Johnson around playing a continual loop of the chorus from Smalltown Boy by Bronski Beat.

I'd prefer a fully armed tank driven by a man on the edge with a bottle of brandy in his hand.
