Yep. People just refuse to see it because they hate him so much/need a scapegoat. Playing him today was a given because of the pace of their flanks. Not the right game to rest Clyne in mind (for the same reason), but he can't play every single game either... Contrast the comments towards Moreno with those towards Flanagan (who had a shocker and should have been off at HT) in this thread, it's ridiculous.

 

That's as quiet as you can hope to keep Zaha and Bolasie (who are probably the two most dangerous wingers in the league when given space) over 90 mins, and Moreno did a great job today. One on one those two will cause you to give away free kicks, as they ALWAYS challenge you. He might have avoided the last one, and I'd liked him to pass forward a bit more, but to slate him today is just nonsense. 

 

Agreed that Moreno had a decent game. As usual he made some dumb challenges but he shackled Zaha pretty easily. Flanagan on the other hand was absolutely terrible and I understand why he usually gets little reproach but he's no where near being a starting 11 caliber player.

I was fishing a bit mentioning Barca to see who would bite and be wrong, Lovrens better than Mascherano at cb and is a better player than Mathieu and Vermaelen.

Er I think barca will be the judge there, they tried to sign agger they wont be making moves for lovren and nor will any top team, one or two performances doesnt make him better than any of the players you mentioned because he is not, if barca come calling for him anywhere outside of your melted fun sized mars bar brain, feel free to bring up my words. All it proves is that as we know klopp can set up a defenced organised to make the most of what we have and is a good man motivator and tactician. Its not about him cutting out mistakes its about klopp understanding his poor positioning and is panicky under pressure so addresses it by trying to ensure hes not able to get himself in a fix by coaching and tactics.

 

Amazing what a world class coach can do versus a non trophy winning mid table man. Isnt it?

Is true, gives away a lot of stupid fouls. I can't stand it when he lays on the ground to appeal to the ref instead of getting back into play quickly in case the foul isn't given.
