Benteke has scored 42 Premier League goals in 88 games (that's a better goals per game ratio in the Premier League than Sturridge, Torres, Owen, Fowler, Drogba, Dzeko, Bony, Giroud, Lukaku etc), compared to Andy Carroll's 34 in 136. As for headers, he averages 4 goals per season in the league with Villa, whilst Suarez, for example, scored 3 per season with us.

 

He might not be the right player for us but the Carroll comparisons are just lazy.

Until we sign him and we see how it goes then all comparisons are lazy. But with this being a football forum and our poor dealings over the last 18 months I think its inevitable some of us will have a few doubts.

Obviously he would do better there. They are just about the most direct team in the top six, even more so with fellaini. Always have been and always will be.

 

They don't piss around doing this neat intricate passing on the edge of the box. It's whipped in from all angles or more recently launched from deep in their own half.

 

How the fuck else do lazy shit goal hangers like hernandez and solskjaer go there and enhance their reputation otherwise.
